Hi, Loading...

Dec 2018: This place is awful. While the rooms are outdated and small, the management is worse. Never, ever “delegate” your lease either. That’s a fancy term they use for sublease so they can charge you $200 to still be responsible for the apartment. They also will charge you a ridiculous amount of fees after the delegate moves out. I believe someone in an earlier post said they send pictures of the damages. They don’t. I asked the manager and she said they do not have pictures, so they can not even prove the damage. I never got charged a fee after I moved out of the first apartment. They just want to scare you into getting your parents to pay for bogus fees with NO PROOF. I was also double charged for damage as well. All in all, not a terrible place to live, but move out and what comes after really ruin it all. Thanks River Club. Review from Google
Oct 2018: This is my first year living at Riverclub Apartments and I will not be returning. I feel that I was duped in terms of the apartment I received. After touring I was excited for move-in after being shown the model home, but soon realized that is not the quality I would be receiving. Whilst moving in, there was old food in our cabinets, holes in the floor and walls, debris scattered around the patio area, our couch is PEELING apart, my shower head is detached from the wall, my roommate's bathroom door is plastered together where a previous tenant kicked it in, my deadbolt was broken, and my washer and dryer had to be made before 1995 (it takes 4 cycles to dry a medium-sized load), there’s mold in my shower, and my roommate and I found old, worn underwear between our washer and dryer! Maintenance is inconsistent, sometimes they arrive quickly a Review from Google
Oct 2018: We have hugeeee spiders in our rooms! Wish I could post pictures!! I don’t get any responses to my emails either. Review from Google
Aug 2018: My time at River Club Apartments was horrible. When I first moved in my apartment was infested with bed bugs. That’s right folks. BED BUGS. My roommate was bit by the bugs as soon as we moved in. It took river club 3 weeks to listen to my roommates and I before they took action. The only reason they listened to us was because we actually saw the bed bugs with our own EYES & sent them pictures. They had to put us in the model home for weeks, and still made us pay full rent despite not being able to live in our actual apartment for half of the first month of our lease. We had to spend days at the laundromat washing our clothes.... they did reimburse us for the money spent there.(how nice of them HA) anyways. It took two treatments for the bed bugs to go away. After that, we got a gnat infestation a month before move out. We always kept our ap Review from Google
Aug 2018: Stay far, far away from this place. The management here is god awful and they will make every attempt to steal every penny they can from you. The move-in process was confusing and sub-leasing my room was even more difficult. After my lease ended they charged me an excessive amount of money for totally no reason. I left my room in immaculate condition and all of the keys were turned in but they still charged $235 for "cleaning" and keys. If you like getting scammed and having your money stolen from you then this is the perfect place for you! These are definitely the last apartments on Earth I would want to live in. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid at all costs!!! Review from Google
Aug 2018: My son moved in almost 2 weeks ago. Maintenance request for water leak in the ceiling still has not been addressed and now his shower makes a horrible screaming noise. Apartment was filthy when he moved in. Microwave had old dried food in it and the painters left paint drips and splatters everywhere which we better not get charged for. Kitchen was disgustingly dirty. Huge cob webs in all the corners near the ceiling throughout the place. Floors were so gritty we had to go buy a vacuum to clean them. The model apartment he was shown was in much better condition than the actual apartment he got. So far I am not impressed with this apartment complex. Review from Google
Jun 2018: I have lived here for almost an year and I am very satisfied with River Club. As an interenational student, I was initially very skeptical about the place but then over time I have had a pretty good experience. Pros: The staff is wonderful and have addressed any issues quite promptly. Very professional in their approach as well. The rooms are quite affordable compared to other similar student communities. The community is very well maintained and clean. Almost all of my guests who had visited me liked this place immensely. The gym is well-stocked (even though I hardly had the time to go).Pool, Volleyball, tennis courts! Events from time to time! Cons: Obviously, the distance from campus! But for people with cars, this shouldn't be a problem. The Athens transit bus 9 comes every hour. I hope they increase the frequency of the bus se Review from Google
Apr 2018: Not fond of Management, and we have not even moved in yet! I went to read reviews on their website and found this picture! This is considered worthy of placing on their website?!? Have you seen more grime that this for a bathroom photo? Review from Google

Mar 2018: I love the room layouts and amenities river club offers. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment. Review from Google
Mar 2018: I absolutely love living at the Apartments. They have amazing amenities such as a great pool, volley ball, tennis and basketball courts. They have private bathrooms and great amount of space in the rooms. Its also super convenient to campus and everything else around athens. Review from Google
Mar 2018: I have lived at River Club for over a year and I have enjoyed living there. The prices are affordable for someone who works part time like myself. The staff is always friendly and whenever I have had a maintenance issue, they would come out within 48 hours. I would recommend River Club to anyone. Plus, they are always having specials going on for potential residents! Review from Google
Mar 2018: I will give this one star to the new manger, and the freezing winter without heater.. they are the boss and when you can't get the service you supposed to have, the only thing you could get from them is suck it!!! And they think you know nothing about how they work. Yes, not apologized first but find excuse first... no heater for 2 month and they still think it is reasonable and I should understand their work. And the reason of not fixing heater is about the communication issue?!! Yes, 3 working order and 2 complaints, and 2 face to face meetings, and I'm so stupid to can't explain well that I just need the heater been fixed!!!! So rude community, and really have no idea how this new manager works. I will never ever recommend anyone live in the community and can't wait to move out. Really hope yep could have 0 Star rating... Feb 2018: This is my second year living at River Club and both my roommate and I have loved it. Staff is so friendly and kind and they always make sure to complete your maintenance requests as soon as they can. I'm sad to graduate and move out in the summer! Review from Google
Nov 2017: River Club is the most disgusting, miserable place you could ever live. There is so much mold, the air vents don't work, and it's so stuffy. I have asthma, and living there last year with all of the mold literally gave me health issues the point where I was always sick, and had to live at multiple friend's houses. I had to have my doctor write a complaint to the office in order to attempt to get me out of the lease, but the management people didn't care at all. My parents even went to the measure of contacting attorneys to find a way to break my lease because of all of the health issues I was experiencing from living here, and by that point, after months and months of communicating with the office and not receiving any help at all from the staff and management and my lease almost being up by that time, it wasn't worth it. but the issues don't Review from Google
Sep 2017: don't live here!!! I've been living in several apartment like the legacy of Athens, connection at Athens. Each of them is great! I just lived here at my friend's house for a while. The very frustrating thing about this apartment is they only have one dumpster in the whole living area. Can you believe that? Every apartment I lived before has at least one in every single block. And in here, I have to walk five minutes in 90 degrees with a huge heavy trash box. I can hardly bend my finger now. This is a ridiculous design. Please make it more humane if you will, or people will find better place to live, where they can dump their trash downstairs. Review from Google
Sep 2017: Great place for students to live! Very safe and private. The maintenance at this apartment was amazing and problems got taken care of immediately, which is rare. Compared to other apartments in Athens this apartment is the safest and treats the residents the best. Also, very nice pool, gym and tanning beds. It really is the overall best student living in Athens. Review from Google
Aug 2017: This place is unsafe for female residents. After over a half dozen requests by my daughter, a resident, and multiple contacts by me as well, the security lights on the buildings are still out, requiring women to walk in darkness to the building in the back of the property next to the woods. Also, the gate is still not closed. They said they are still waiting for a couple more people to move in before they shut the gate. Except move in day was a month ago. Today she was told they have to input names of residents before it can be locked. So know that "gated community" and "security" mean absolutely nothing to the owners and management at Riverclub. Parents, think twice before letting your daughters move in here! Signed, a frustrated parent. Review from Google
Jul 2017: I have lived in River Club Apartments for the past year, and I'm honestly impressed. The negative reviews I once saw when I was going through the application process almost scared me away, but my personal experience has been great. River Club is not the best as far as student housing in Athens goes, but it is the best when it comes to value. It is one of the least expensive apartment complexes, complete with effective and rapidly-responding maintenance services, decent appliances, and nice-sized rooms/private bathrooms. From about July to September we had a few problems with bugs, but when we finally called for pest control (included in monthly rent), they came and sprayed, and we have had minimal bug appearances since. Initially I didn't have the best interactions with the office staff, but I've seen huge improvements in the customer service Review from Google
Apr 2017: I love this apartment complex! They are very prompt with repairs and keep everything kept up very nice. Its also not too loud here!! The only con is no dogs allowed at the apartments! Review from 4/20/17 on Google
Apr 2017: I really liked my room and bathroom. Almost everything about River Club is nice, but the bus system needs improvement. It only comes once an hour which is inconvenient for those who don't have cars. Review from 4/15/17 on Google
Apr 2017: I currently live here and I love it! The apartments are great and it's an awesome place to live especially as a student! Review from 4/13/17 on Google
Dec 2016: Be wary of management, especially Su. Su claimed she contacted me multiple times about a remaining balance. I ensured that she had the correct email, phone and address on file. She claimed to have called me multiple times, emailed me and sent me snail mail over the course of months. I checked my phone records with my carrier, checked all my folders on my email, and I check my mailbox everyday. I did not receive a message until she contacted my guarantor threatening to send my remaining balance (with an additional fee) to collections. Review from 12/17/16 on Apartment Ratings
Aug 2016: I would not recommend River Club apartments for a variety of reasons. What you see is not what you get. We were toured a beautiful and pristine unit. On move-in, we walked into an apartment with badly stained and filthy looking carpets. Supposedly, carpets had been steam cleaned, but they were nasty. When putting items on the shelves in the kitchen, we were wiping them down with disinfectant clothes, and wiped away a coat of dirt. Clearly, the cleaning service did not do their job! The AC was on the blink on move-in day, and it took almost all day to get someone out to fix it. After that, the electric bill was quite high the first couple of months, and we notified management. Aug 2016: I'm not telling., I'm not asking, I'm pleading, DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS PLACE. River club is a terrible place to rent. The management gives no ----s, the staff gives no ----s. It looks nice on the outside, but its pretty much a maggot filled corpse. The appliances and AC units are all taken out of old buildings and put in here. They constantly break down and repair with incorrectly sized parts and duct tape letting the excess material "burn off". They are owned by scion group, and scion group is owned by another larger conglomerate that also owns the sham of an ISP they provide. Review from 8/17/16 on Apartment Ratings
May 2016: River Club Athens (owned by Scion Group) targets college students, and refer to themselves as River Club at the University of Georgia through FaceBook advertising and even the welcome phone message. However, this company shows a clear lack of concern for their customers. Final exams for the summer 2016 term at the University of Georgia are on August 3, 2016. The move out date for River Club is on July 30, 2016. After contacting management, they gave no options or advice on how to rectify this discrepancy. Review from 5/26/16 on Google
