Hi, Loading...

Nov 2019: I am a current resident here and the building itself is fine, but the property management really brings the place down. The good: Location is obviously great, common areas are "nice" although not always clean, apartments themselves are nice enough, about what you would expect for a middle of the road building. Usually pretty quick on getting to you for maintenance requests. The bad: As others have reviewed here the management team here is just downright bad and don't seem to care they are bad. The best example (as others have wrote) is their handling of parking. The garage went for months, years who knows how long as a lawless place - Stickers not needed, visitors parking for days, cars parked in places they shouldn't be, but it was charming in some ways because that is just the way it was. One day management decided they wanted to start cleaning up the problem and enforce parking. Great Review from Google
Sep 2019: Great location and manage team, but noises from the street are extremely loud at Morning!!!!!!!!! I think there is a store just start to run a machine every morning at 5AM... How loud is it? Loud enough to wake me up at 5AM!!!!!! Right now it is 6AM and I am trying to sleep since 5AM!!!!!! It is like a construction site on your head. God please I just wanna sleep. Sep 2019: To start with, I am a current resident, and have lived here for a year and a half. 1. The parking is terrible, and has just recently been exacerbated by Berkshire implementing "reserved parking". This allows you to pay for premium parking, and is an obvious way to make more money from residents who already disappointed with the parking to begin with. 2. Even worse, on your average day 1/3 of the elevators are not functional at some point. Looking through my email, I've received 30+ emails from the complex in the past year and a half regarding an elevator being broken. This means that, combined with reserve parking, it can often take 10 minutes to travel from your car to your apartment. Review from Google
Aug 2019: There’s certainly many positives about this place: but there’s plenty of those reviews on here. This review is meant to bring attention to the failings of this apartment building. Rent goes up every chance they get. Not joking. There’s a fire station next door, which is incredibly loud. This place has notoriously bad parking for residents: sometimes there simply aren’t enough spots, and several premium spots are taken by cars that haven’t moved in years. And now they want to charge you for a private spot; a demonstrable showcase of their greed. Also, the new management is seemingly quite strict. Occasionally cars will park where they can (doubling up on single spots, taking up two compact spots, or out of the way in the corner), and management decided to make an example out of somebody. I just saw today that they decided to boot a car belonging to a fellow resident here Review from Google
Jul 2019: Dropped by for a visit earlier last month. Paula and the other staffs were very kind. It's a very nice apartment building in a great neighborhood. definitely recommend! Review from Google
Apr 2019: I have lived here for almost 2 years now and here are my honest thoughts: This place is very expensive. Some staff memebers are very rude. But, staff here changes way too often so maybe it will be better with the new manager (UPDATE: Much better since Tyrus came around). Amenities are good, the building is well maintained except the occasional dog pee in stairwells. And maintenance people are attentive and impressively professional to any issues. So pluses and minuses like everywhere else. I chose this place based on location. It is close to work. Residents here range from young 20 year olds to people in their 60s. You never know who your neighbors will be ofcourse. Others already mentioned the snail speed elevator and fire alarm issues. On a side note - One person who I think is nice and accommodating is Austin. (UPDATE: She left too..) So if you are coming here, good luck! Review from Google
Apr 2019: When we visited this property on 4/5/19, we had the pleasure of meeting a property management representative ( Chris from Connecticut) who assisted us with touring the property. Chris was phenomenal and had the best disposition, personality and knowledge of the property. While touring the property, he brought up ideas about how either the 1 or 2 bedrooms would work. The property is beautiful and is at the top of my list. We could not sign a lease immediately due to the lack of a contract for the sale of our house. Best value for the location and price hands down.Chris even followed up with a personal call to see if we had made a decision or had further questions. I am sold! Wejust need to sell my house and we are there! Review from Google
Mar 2019: I am in the process of renting and getting my key ! Austin, the GM AND the whole leasing staff including maitenence has been nothing but helpful ! Austin and her GM have gone above and beyond for me and ALL of my questions . Austin has been very patient with me ... my decision was a long and very researched throughout the Cameron Village and downtown Raleigh area .. and I kept coming back to Berkshire ! I’m very excited to move in . I’ve always owned my own home so I am first time renter in my new area! I’ll update after living there a few weeks / months ! I have no hesitation in saying I know the review will still be glowing ! Review from Google

Feb 2019: We had two fantastic and informative tours from Leasing Consultants Austin and Becca! They were both extremely patient and willing to answer all of our questions and did an excellent job of introducing us to the Berkshire. They were equally helpful when it came time to go through the leasing process. In addition, Property Manager Tyrus was incredibly friendly and professional, and made us feel very welcome during our orientation tour!
Feb 2019: Pros: Friendly Staff Active Community Larger apartments then the rest of downtown Very Pet Friendly Secure and safe, near a fire station Cons: Wood Construction – Your dog may hear a big of noise when people are walking in the hall, but it is nothing that will keep a light sleeper awake at night. My Experience: I moved up from Florida; a week before I completed my move, I found four apartments that I really liked. I chose Berkshire based on the following items: Larger rooms, good location and the layout of amenities. Most amenities are laid out in a way that I do not have to go out into the cold weather to access them. The staff was friendly and worked with me regarding my specific situation, they definitely went above and beyond to assist me. The few maintenance requests I opened were evaluated and resolved quickly. The neighbors I have met on the elevator have all been friendly, even on Monday!
Dec 2018: I was a prospect recently, and toured the complex. I absolutely loved everything about the building, and staff. The building was very well maintained! Review from Google
Dec 2018: I absolutely love living here! Not only is it a beautiful complex and close to so many great places, but the staff is killer - Austin Caldwell being one of them. She has helped me so many times in making sure I had what I needed and keeping me up to date on everything regarding any announcements, changes, packages, service requests...she's great! The other staff is also phenomenal. Check it out! Review from Google
Nov 2018: Austin has made my experience here easy, worry-free, and exciting! My furbaby and I enjoy living here and getting to meet new people. Thanks for all your hard work Austin! Review from Google
Oct 2018: I'm currently looking for a new apartment and have not signed a new lease yet due to timing. However, I want to say that out of all the apartment communities I'm looking at, Berkshire has had the most helpful staff members. Becca has been great with trying to meet my needs and keep me informed of available apartments. When a floorplan I'd been wanting to see became available and she couldn't be there to show it to me, she scheduled an appointment for me with Austin (who was also fabulous!). They have been nothing but great and if my decision to sign were just based off of the staff in the office, I'd sign in a heartbeat! Review from Google
Aug 2018: I love living in Berkshire Cameron Village...awesome location! I am 23, and I just moved in a month ago. Being able to walk to the grocery store, drug store, and cool restaurants has been convenient and fun for meeting with family/friends -- short commute for those working downtown also. Great community of people, and there have already been two apartment community events during the short time that I have lived here. The hallways/amenities/community areas are spacious and clean, and the apartment units have high ceilings and hardwoods throughout the kitchen/living area. Austin Caldwell was motivated, positive, helpful, proactive and quickly responsive to resident needs. Review from Google
Jun 2018: I've been living here for over a year now and I have to say it's been a great experience. As with any building, it's not perfect. However, the staff has not only been receptive and helpful with any issues or concerns that I've had, they also show a genuine interest in providing a great living experience. While the building has amenities, a fantastic location, and other typical selling points, the complex really shines through with the knowledge, friendliness, and congeniality of it's staff. May 2018: Took a tour of these beautiful apartments and was very impressed with all the lovely amenities. Becca, one of the leasing agents, was super friendly and was was very thorough answering all of my questions. Looking forward to possibly moving in over the summer! Review from Google
May 2018: You won’t find any property in the Raleigh/Durham area like this! Walkable to all of the amenities in Cameron Village and has high quality finishes including tall ceilings and granite countertops. The price is similar to properties nearby but doesn’t feel like an apartment. Becca in the leasing office asked all of the right questions and was very responsive with ours! Great property! May 2018: I have lived all over downtown raleigh area, from my condo at the PNC plaza to the sky house to gramercy off of Glenwood, all though the others were not so bad, Berkshire Cameron Village tops it all in the downtown area. The property is great no doubt!!! but what made me take the time to review this property is not how beautiful and entertaining it is but rather the staff. First I want to give 5stars to Austin, she is not just helpful, she is defintly an above and beyond consultant. I am not an easy person to work with and I am extreemly needy( not going to lie) she did a hell of good job to accommodating my needs with first class service!! highly recommend the Berkshire Cameron village. I also want to say thank you!! to the property manger Phill, he took time out of his day to answer all my questions and was there throughout the process. Aft Review from Google
May 2018: This past year has brought about a complete change of personnel in all departments, much to the delight of most residents here. The new Property Manager fully understands who the customer is and personally insures the very best possible service will be delivered. Open and honest communications has brought a new breath of fresh air, along with so much more. The new Maintenance Mgr. is outstanding and has put together an excellent staff of highly competent personnel. The Assistant Mgr. and customer service always provide the very best possible assistance one could expect. A new beginning and a great change in so many ways here. The new leadership team has made it all happen, even during all the required construction changes and improvements currently underway throughout the building. Review from Google
Apr 2018: Stopped over to tour a couple open apartments, and was very pleased with the location and amenities. Very friendly leasing agent met us 10 minutes before her scheduled end of day, and had no problem staying well past her normal schedule. Thanks! Review from Google
Apr 2018: We have lived at Berkshire Cameron Village for 3 years and have been very pleased with the experience. The resident areas (pool, kitchen, lounge & gym) are lovely and tastefully decorated. I will acknowledge that there have been some problems with the building stemming from the original construction, but they are being addressed in the least disruptive manner possible. The current management team (which has been in place for about 6 months) is extremely responsive and very professional. The location could not be better. We are in walking distance to 2 grocery stores, many restaurants and coffee shops, tons of boutique shops and a public library. The surrounding area is great for walking and it is only a couple of miles to the center of downtown Raleigh. The amenities are top notch and social activities, hosted by the management, are plentifu Review from Google
Mar 2018: When I moved in to my apartment I was very pleased with the crisp new smell of a well maintained place. Over the course of my stay, I have had very few problems, but when I have had to call on maintenance they were very prompt with replying. Must say, I am impressed with how the young maintenance man dealt with each problem in such a courtesy manner. Front office people were very friendly when I first moved here, but has since switched out people and really have not had much contact with them. All in all if you are looking to live in a nice building with everything you need in walking distance, this is the place to be. Review from Google
Sep 2017: Great location, but worst experience. While the building is beautiful, I unfortunately lived at Berkshire Cameron Village for one year. Issues began at move-in when the leasing office was closed and I was unable to get into my apartment. Upon entering, it was dirty and still needed the main wall painted. Next the fire alarms. Numerous other residents have commented on the unheard of amount of fire alarms that go off, hopefully they are fixed now, but during my stay residents had to exit the building in the middle of the night at least 12 TIMES! This means getting dressed for the cold, rain, whatever the weather may be and sitting on a curb outside. This issue was getting better towards the ending of my lease. The next issue happened when pipes leaked in the parking garage on my car ruining the paint and costing $3,000 in damages. This can be Review from Google
Aug 2017: My husband and I could not BELIEVE the awful service! We came in and we're dismissed rudely by the leading woman. She abruptly said "come back in ten minutes". She did not even offer us a seat. We hand to wander around looking for a place to sit. It has been way more than ten minutes and she has not come out. We are about to leave. Review from Google
