Apr 2018: living at Westmar is very bittersweet . My favorite person that worked here was Ms.Charity she was very sweet always answered the phone with a warm greeting and even when you came in she welcomed you. I love having my own bathroom. I just wish They ain’t get me stuck in this 12 month lease ! After I signed for 10 months they called me and told me it would be cheaper to do twelve months ..which it is not cheaper at all. Apr 2018: This place really deserves 0 stars. 1 is an understatement because the management here is horrible! BEWARE OF WESTMAR LOFTS. To start off, I had problems in regards to my health needs and went to the management daily only for them to NOT be helpful or caring AT ALL. I spoke with the manager there named Ashley & her manager named Tracy. Horrible and unconcerning people along with another lady named Tosano! I also know people that had problems with this same management. They didn’t care about my health at all to work with me over the course of days in the apartment ! Stay away from this place & believe the reviews please! Also, they have a low rating on the Better Business Bureau & I will be filing a complaint along with everyone else! Mar 2018: I wonder if the positive reviews that i saw here are from the staff 😂 Don’t be fooled by the nice pictures they have online or the nice way they interact with you when you come sign your lease THEY NEVER HAVE MANAGERS! You can never sit down with anyone and voice your concerns! They have events once in a while, but lets be real they have 0 customer service, the hallways smell like shit or weed...they have shootings once in a while.. pretty much luxury projects if you know what I mean! Mar 2018: THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED. Calling the management, policies and cleanliness piss poor would be too kind of a compliment for this facility. I wouldn’t wish the “Westmar Experience†on my worse enemy. Here’s why:
- my air filter was black with debri. I filed 3 request with maintenance because dust was flowing from my vents. Only on the 3 visit was the filter changed
- I’ve had a leak in my main hallway of my apartment coming from AC. They said they fixed the problem but it still happens from time to time
- the hand of the door between the parking garage and apartment has been broken for nearly 3 months. You have to use the elevator
- oh wait no elevator! That breaks every other week. (definitely worth looking into their accreditation for handicap accessibility)

This place honestly isn’t awful. We haven’t had any roaches, maintenance responds eventually. They try to hold activities for the community and they offer shuttle service to Atlanta universities and Walmart. I don’t live on a hall with a trash shoot, but usually when I go they aren’t overflowing. And Its got a great location that’s undeniable.
But actually staying here is taxing. A woman was shot here and basically left for dead about a month ago and the staff did nothing to reassure us about our safety. The fire alarms go off for 15-20 minutes for no reasons and without warning at all hours of the night and day. Feb 2018: Westmar is a nice place to live depending on what you are looking for. The area is perfect and they provide shuttles to campus. The amenities have been upgraded, and the staff is good and helpful. However, there are times where the maintenance staff isn't the greatest, there have been several times where I filled out maintenance request and I'll receive an email saying that the task was completed when it wasn't. And there are times when the trash piles up really bad in the hallways. I've been here for a few years and have had some intersting roommates, which is a downside. All in all, it's a decent place to live and it beats living in a dorm. Review from GoogleFeb 2018: The social community events they host are great. Your expectations shouldn't be luxury Midtown living at all (you get what you pay for) but it does it's job. I feel safe with the security onsite 24/7 and the new management are working on A LOT of improvements like remodeling the common areas, hosting weekly resident get togethers, putting in more security for the parking garage, etc. Living next to the train is not fun, so request a unit on the backside of the building and it'll probably be much quieter. Utilities/Internet is included so that's nice to just pay one fee and be done with it and the roommate matching worked great. Jan 2018: Have to walk down to the gate to check people in, the trash chutes are always nasty so the halls smell, fire alarm will randomly go off. Shuttles are on-time only sometimes. Overall wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. Tons of seemingly much nicer apartments within ~0.5 miles for similar prices. Also it seems like any 5 star reviews just come from the office staff.
They just recently put spikes at the entrance and exit of the parking deck, which does NOTHING but inconvience people. The whole parking deck system is an absolute joke. Checking people in didn't stop two people from getting shot here, or my bike and Xbox being stolen. Security guards are employed purely for posterity; they serve absolutely no purpose. I have nothing good to say about this place. can't wait to move out. I go to Clark so being able to converse with people from Georgia Tech and Georgia State without having to physically travel to each campus allows me 2 experience more of what Atlanta has to offer. The great thing is the convenience, being able to walk for my room to the weight room, not having to go outside to take out trash, playing pool with my friends and being able to attend pool parties (which are at pools with a huge grill!) without having to crank up a car is awesome! Nov 2017: We actually moved my little sister into this community and I was extremely surprised by the customer service received from the maintenance staff (specifically Chris Fanning) , as there were a few issues that he was able to take care of for us immediately. His attention to detail and love for what he did was exceptional and made me feel comfortable with the fact that my little sister would be living their. Great Job Westmar on that hire! They do a really good job marketing like they are able to make this place look like heaven but don't fall for it honestly. I made the mistake of leasing for two years because everything looked so good but of course I was wrong and let me tell you I will never make that mistake again! Wifi SUCKS! My dryer is never working. The garbage disposal stops working all the time. The hallways smell like SHIT LITERALLY! The elevator is gross, they cleaned it one time and it was before moving time cause of course they need to make it look good for the parents. Its like a college dorm so of course it's dirty. Sep 2017: Take my advice and NEVER live here. The "amenities" never work, and the staff is not helpful when they are broken or down. They act as if our money is less important because we are students. I lived out of my suitcase for 4 months due to the horrible bug problems, and then had my personal bug trap ruined by pest control and no one would take blame or replace it. I broke my lease. It was THE WORST experience ever.Aug 2017: First off I want to say I would never in my life ever ever ever sign another lease at Westmar Student Lofts again. Please carefully read the review before considering to live hear. From the beginning of moving into Westmar I had a plethora of issues with my move-in process. The apartment that I was supposed to move in was given away to someone else after we had already agreed on a move in day. This left me to have to take the smaller room which was very small and cluttered. All they offered was $200.00 of my rent, after their mistake and miscommunication. Not to mention trash left in random places because of the young residents who have no type of home training, roach and ant 🜠issues, improper security. The door you use to come in is never locked, they have a walk way with stairs they never finished, that is full of rocks😳. Here is what took the cake: ThisJun 2017: I don't know why the staff kept giving me a hard time, they kept stopping me and claimed they didn't recognize me as if out of all the people in the buildings I'm the only one they've never noticed this entire time. Plus my room was nasty when I moved in. The floors needed to be swept and scrubbed. Good location but beyond the foyer the building is a piece of work.

I payed $99 for cable I never had. The communication with the leasing office was horrible. They would just not respond to emails and I would have to send the same email over and over. Also, the trash chutes would be overflowing with trash casting the hallways to smell. Atlas one elevator was always broken. The location is decent, but that's really it. It's overpriced and I with I would've just gotten a regular apartment.

Jun 2017: The building and amenities aren't as bad as I thought they would be, judging from the negative reviews on here. But the staff, with just one or two exceptions, is extremely rude and will take any and every opportunity to get snarky with you. Not once have I picked up a package or signed in a guest without suffering the nastiest attitude from the staff for no reason at all.

The first day I moved in, there was trash on the bed, blood in the toilet and the bathtub sink was clogged. I let the leasing office know about the condition of my apartment and they sent someone to pick up the trash. The apartment was not cleaned prior me moving in. They do not check the condition of the apartment before the resident moves in and do not offer a new room due to upsetting condition of apartment. The entire complex has concrete floors which they do not clean. The hallways always stink. The shuttles are also not very helpful due to their running times.

Their system of collecting rent is suspicious to say the least after you set up automatic rent payments they are not taken. Now for the residence itself. Security is lax. Elevator only works half the time. The listed Community Amenities is bloated. When the shuttle works it is hardly on time. My young adult moved in for Fall 2016 semester and he will not be renewing! Review from 5/26/17 on GoogleMay 2017: Westmar is TRASHHH!!! The manager there sucks. Each floor has a trash chute, but it always spills out in the hallway bringing bugs. And now I'm dealing with bed bugs. The only thing the manager could tell me is, "People come from all over the place so make sure you wash all of your clothes in hot water." I talked to various sources and they confirmed that westmar is known for bed bugs. The bugs have bit me all down my arm, and the manager is so nonchalant and could care less about the problems the facility has. When I called the next day to see if pest control was coming, no one wanted to take my call, and when I went down to the front office, the manager would not even turn my direction to speak to me.
