Hi, Loading...

Feb 2018: Looked at apartments here was helped by a young lady named Ashley who exhibited great customer service skills.. Gave me a great tour at the Dartmouth and I love the nest thermostat. Ashley was very detailed with fees and pricing along with when I can lease the apartment and how soon it would be available. She was very helpful and made the experience of looking for a place one of a kind ! Review from Google
Feb 2018: This is a great place to live. Homes are very well drawn out and they have a variety of floor plans to choose from. Rent is at a fair price and the location is perfect, especially with the light rail opening up this may! Review from Google
Dec 2017: The staff at University Center are always courteous, and helpful. I always appreciate their professionalism, and willingness to help me with my questions. The newly renovated property is clean, and well maintained. Review from Google
Dec 2017: The new management of this apartment complex has made an enormous difference in the way the place is run. Spencer is a class act and always follows through with what he says. The office team is very responsive, and the maintenance staff has always been very friendly and quick to address any issues that arise. The new office hours are much better as well. The location is very convenient for students going the university, especially for those who plan to park in Lot 27 at UNCC or even West Deck, to avoid the traffic on the Friday/Fretwell side of campus. The loss of one star is due to past issues with Cortland, both at this apartment and another place I rented before, of which I'm not fully over yet. It is possible that they are improving as a company, or it could simply be the new management here that has made up for it. In either case Review from Google
Dec 2017: I just recently moved in but I had a great move in experience and I'm loving my new home! Gabrielle helped me out so much along the way and did an awesome job, she knows her property on the back of her hand. Spencer is new to the property but has done a unbelievable job as a Manager to ensure that he knows his residents and that things are getting done. Jessica and Shona are both a great help in the office and are definitely a big part of all of the decisions made. Last but not least maintenance is on top of everything and the Service Manager is very personal and truly cares about your move in experience. He stopped by my unit 2-3 times on my move in day to make sure everything was going well. Thank you Cortland for having a staff that goes above and beyond! Review from Google
Oct 2017: Living here was fine. Moving out? Not good. I understand apartments want you to release but because someone decides to move out should not mean you should give someone a hard time. I gave them more than enough of a notice, moved out, left ZERO damages I was just charged prorated out of my deposit which was fine. I reached out more than I should have had to do for the following 2-3 months of moving out regarding my check. They kept giving me the run around, not answering, did not respond to my email and did not take responsibility for why I had not received my check. I work and have other things to do so I had to send my father to speak with someone on Friday and suddenly the check gets to me on Monday. Funny how that worked out. Enjoy living there and good luck moving out! Review from Google
Aug 2017: My experience living at University Center has been very pleasant and I would definitely live here again. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband passed away last year and I sold my home in May. I needed a temporary home, because I'm in the process of building a new home, so I came to University Center. My move-in date for my new home was pushed back a month and Spencer was able to get my lease extended through September at the same rate. Spencer was so caring and extremely concerned about helping me with my living situation. Thank-you again, Spencer for your help. Review from Google
Jul 2017: I just want to say that my visit to University Center community went great! The homes exceeded my expectations as well as the service I received from the front office. Corey and Sarah provided exceptional service. Being a recent grad from Virginia Tech and new to the area, I wanted to live somewhere that reminded me of where I spent my last 4 years. This neighborhood is very peaceful with very nice scenery. I look forward to living at this beautiful property. I definitely recommend living here! Review from Google

Jun 2017: First and foremost, shout-out to the maintenance team! They are truly what sets these apartments apart. Especially XXXX and XXXX! They're fast, courteous, and things get fixed right the first time. Everything works great in my apartment. It makes all the difference being able to trust the maintenance staff. Honestly, when they come into my apartment when I'm not home, my only problem is that I didn't get to see them! :) Other than that: I've lived here for just over a year. Review from 6/9/17 on Google
Jun 2017: I have been a resident at University Cortland Apartments for a couple of years now.All the years I have been here I have enjoyed my experience here. XXXX and XXXX are very good maintenance technicians. They always do their work, always help anyone if they need it,they are very respectful, and they make sure the properties of Cortland are very good.I always see XXXX working as his best and so do XXXX. I have not had one bad experience since I have been here. Review from 6/7/17 on Google
Jun 2017: Nice place, great maintenance men, nosey neighbors and an uneducated staff. They are priced at about 8% above the current market value for apartments in the university area. With the exact same amenities the comps are averaging $1.01-1.02 per square foot. UC has priced themselves at $1.10 which makes them about $200-350 more than their comps. When I went to ask about their evaluation of the property and the $100 increase on the rent for renewal there was no explanation besides "market value" not knowing I have a BA in Mathematics. Review from 6/5/17 on Google
Jun 2017: I have been a resident at Cortland Properties for almost two (2) years now. I have truly enjoyed my stay here. During my arrival we have had an office staff turn around. It was a smooth transition and Chris has attended to our needs. I thank you for that. Now a real shout out to the whole maintenance team. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. If you need anything say no more its done. It's reassuring knowing that they have your back and nothing is too hard for them. Thank you guys! XXXX does a great job on the grounds. Keep up the good work y'all! Review from 6/3/17 on Google
Dec 2016: University Center Apartments by Cortland Partners is a horrible place to live! While there are a lot of cosmetic improvements being made, do not be fooled, the place is poorly managed, and the quality of life is subpar. I feel like a prisoner, surrounded by noise and garbage. After dark, the parking lot turns into a disco. Tenants are allowed to pile up trash on their patios and leave it for months. Management just rides by it and never says a word. Trash and trash cans left for days on front doors. Review from 12/30/16 on Google
Dec 2016: I love this place. It's a great place to live. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They literally walk and support you throughout the entire process. Clean, updated interiors. It's pretty quiet except for the occasional playing of music by the next door neighbor. People should move into single family homes if they plan to play loud music on the weekends, but I'm quiet and any little noise sends me over the edge. can't really fault the complex for that. They're a little on the pricey side, but well worth it. Review from 12/7/16 on Google
Mar 2016: I have lived here for almost 3 years and have never had an issue outside of a few cosmetic things... However NOW i have had to spend more time in the front office asking more questions about issues and i pay my rent seperate of my roomate so we DONT always pay on the same day and NOW i have my portion of the rent returned to my door instead of a phone call to inquire or inform of why a portion is in at a different time. VERY IRRITATED CONSIDERING WE ARE NOT LATE ON OUR RENT. So NOW that we cannot pay it at the same time we will have to deal with late fees. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY THIS IS BeinG HANDLED AFTER I HAVE COMMUNICATED THAT WE PAY SEPERATE. Review from 3/25/16 on Google
Mar 2016: I'm moving here March 25! The staff is awesome. Very knowledgeable. I worked with Whitney Mack. She was super sweet and personable. She answered all of my questions and most importantly she was eager to help. The prices are a little high, but I feel it would be worth it. The apartments are gorgeous and it's right in the heart of the University area. Review from 3/18/16 on Google
Sep 2015: I would never recommend University Center Apartments to anyone! Their staff, customer service was horrible. Never made me feel like at home. They also gave my personal information out. Review from 9/02/15 on Apartment Reviews
Aug 2015: Macy and her team is truly phenomenal. They (staff at University Center Apartments) go above and beyond to ensure residents are taken care of. I sincerely appreciate all that they do beyond words. Review from 8/25/15 on Apartment Ratings
Jul 2015: Macy is great and really tries to work with the residents to make you feel special!!! The cares team is the best team in the world with Joanna and Chrissy in charge!!! Review from 7/09/15 on Apartment Ratings
Feb 2015: The Cares team makes up for all of the other short comings. I would recommend not counting on the computers or printer in any way. Review from 2/25/15 on Apartment Ratings
Dec 2014: As a former resident of University Center I enjoyed my time there for the most part. The staff is helpful when you view the property, however, that does change once you move in! From the time I moved in there was an issue from a scratched up stove (the apartments come with glass top stoves) that after pleading and raising cane with the first manager it was replaced after 45 days after I moved in. I really didn't have any more problems until middle in my lease I was asked to move to another unit because my neighbor downstairs could hear me upstairs. That was her personal choice so that didn't reflect on the complex just the resident below me. Review from 12/11/14 on Apartment Ratings
Nov 2014: I have been living at University Center for 6 months. I have enjoyed living here so far. They have great community events which has allowed me to meet some of my neighbors. This is important because I moved here from out of town. They weren't the cheapest in the area but with all of the upgrades in the apartment it was worth it.
