Feb 2018: Pros: 1. Great location if you’re an UNCC student. 2. Ok apartments for the price. Could be better. 3. My apartment has a lake view so it’s nice. 4. Cable is included but you must pay a $50 which is mandatory for not much benefits. Cons: 1. The front office is under staffed. 2. They give no preference to current residents. They will make you wait for a good amount of time for any new potential renters. 3. The manager is kind of rude and unwelcoming. But other staff are really good and helpful. 4. Don’t get confused by the base rent; always add up all the extras and that’s why you’ll be paying and no internet is included. Review from Google
Feb 2018: Miserable management. The apartments are great and convenient with regards to the University or Grocery store. However, the management is a complete rip off. When we moved in, there were some stains on the carpet and one of the blinds was broken. Now, after 1.5 yrs of living, they say that we are responsible for the stains and blinds. They rip you off completely. Better go to Ashford which is nearby unless you have a lot of money that you'd just like to blow away! Review from Google
Jan 2018: My experience here has been miserable. The building I lived in had non reparable issues, all of which were plumbing issues. The first issue I encountered was with the bathroom plumbing. A pipe in my master bathroom had a crack in it which cause severe leakage into my guest bedroom and permanent water damage to the ceiling and wall which was not fixed. I lived with a hole in my bathroom ceiling for 2 weeks. Not to mention that the leak was so bad that it forced the bathroom mirror off the wall and caused it to shatter everywhere. The mirror took about a month to replace. About a month later we experienced a similar leak in the bathroom and the repair man fixed what he could and made a huge mess spray painting the ceiling. He got paint literally all over the toilet, sink and floor. 6 months into my lease, winter time by now, I wake up at 6 Review from Google
Oct 2017: I am a resident here for almost 1 and a half years. I have had no problem staying in this community. Being an international student, with lot of friends staying in other communities around the university. I can tell that, by far this is the most beautiful and best community in a walking distance from the University. CG does not have hidden water/electrical/heating charges like some of the other communities near by. All of my service requests were resolved in 1-2 days. I did not have any problem like other residents complain. Jessica Baldwin helped us a lot and took care of anything. If you an international student, I would highly recommend staying here. Try talking to students staying in Ashford green, University Terrace Drive/North and you will know how better CG is. Review from Google
Jul 2017: SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. These places are overpriced, not maintained, and poorly staffed. In the two years I lived there, I had multiple break ins to my vehicles and also a break in to my apartment which lead to thousands stolen from my home. The office looked at it in the sense of, there's nothing they could do so, oh well. It took over a month for them to replace my window that was broken, I lived with a boarded up window that I had to seal myself to keep from bugs coming into my place. Plus my electrical bill skyrocketed from the AC running constently. I had broken appliances that never got fixed, a broken AC that leaked onto my carpet, and forget about an air filter change, you'd have to take off the panel and call because they never had a routine. Worst maintenance staff possible, everything was a band aid and never was Review from Google
Jun 2017: I wish there were no stars. I wouldn't exaggerate a lot, but worse management who just gives reason when asked to replace or repair something, I moved in new and everything was broken , when asked to fix, they just told it s always like that, we'll try to do else you have to live with it ..asked to replace the baking oven, as it was all stinky when we moved in new, they just told they couldn't provide new baking ovens for everyone who comes. They just eat your money for every single thing! Definitely wouldn't recommend it. They just like money. Money for everything when your about to leave and your lease gets over. The management is pretty rude. They pretend to address the problems, but they actually don't. I really hope the management understands that we pay for living there and not like they are doing us a favor by letting us live there. I Review from Google
May 2017: I only lived here for a little over three months but, overall, it was a safe haven compared to dorm life. I did not have most of the issues other reviewers seemed to have. If I had an issue, maintenance came quickly and fixed whatever the problem was. My parents and I were disappointed by the gate's lack of security. My neighbor across the hall kept his door open all the time and was loud and smoked, which was annoying. Review from 5/12/17 on Google
Mar 2017: I would give them no stars if I could. I lived in a first floor apartment and had some pervert break in to my apartment multiple times. On New Years morning my roommate woke up to a man standing in her room watching her sleep. After reporting this, they were supposed to change our locks and windows the next day but never showed up. That same night I was naked in my bathtub shaving my legs (I made it a point to completely close my blinds before getting undressed because of the previous break-in) and when I get done I looked up to see my blinds COMPLETELY open, with a man standing in my window watching me while masturbating. Mar 2017: I personally really enjoy living at this complex. Rent can be a little pricing, but living in the University area with the a new light rail connecting to Uptown is a huge factor. Management always seems to take time and assist me with whatever situation I have going on. I make it a point to go up to the office and talk with them. Yes, they do not always answer the phone but their are other forms of communication. I honestly love the staff and the complex. Some residents do leave trash outside of their doors, but more often than not, they eventually take it to the trash. Review from 3/20/17 on Google
Jan 2017: We had an amazing move-in experience. The community is very beautiful and very well equipped. There are few things like NFC and pest control that are not done yet but I believe they will be done soon. Rest all is good and we like the community a lot. Review from 1/2/17 on Apartment Ratings
Dec 2016: The service personnel are always efficient, friendly and very professional. Thanks so much for making life a little easier when trouble arises! The maintenance staff always responds promptly to any maintenance requests I have. Review from 12/29/16 on Apartment Ratings
Dec 2016: Easily the worst managed apartments in Charlotte. They are disorganized and not very friendly. I will never rent from an apartment complex managed by MAA. They do a good job maintaining the appearance but the quality of your appliances and their customer service makes living here terrible. Review from 12/14/16 on Apartment Ratings
Apr 2016: Every time we file for maintenance, they never effectively fix the problem. The apartment managers send out DAY OF notice letters with zero regards to your personal schedule or the fact that you may have kids and/or pets to also think of. We called about getting our carpets shampooed and we're told they'd call us back. After a couple of weeks of no response we we're told "well don't you know how to return a message?" When they know good and well they never left us any messages in the first place. Not a phone call, not a voicemail, not an email, nothing! After adjusting my schedule and removing everything from our apartment for the carpet clean, I find out the person that was supposed to do it has left early for day. Again, no phone call, no notice. I never would have even known had I not called and asked. Review from 4/16/16 on Google
Nov 2015: Staff is very nice and warming. They allow any breed of dog, no matter the weight which is very rare to find, but I'm glad I did! Maintance is very nice and took a look at some minor problems I had and fixed them with no problems! Overall I'm very happy about my decision on living here. Review from 11/16/2015
Oct 2015: The apartment bedroom is not lamp,it is very difficult for fresh foreigner, but it is very very easy for you.Moved in apartment,a lot of question exist.Maybe, maintenance is not finished.the other thing is ok!satisfied, satisfied, satisfied! Review from 10/28/2015 on Apartment Ratings
Oct 2015: it is a good complex. In this apartment we have gym and internet cafe that I think are useful. In addition the safety is very high in colonial grand at mallard lake. I will definitely recommend it to my friends. But, there was a minor problems when we arrived to the building. That's it. Review from 10/5/2015 on Apartment Ratings
Mar 2015: The community is good and silent . Gym and car washing amenities .Lot of Indian people's in the community. Nearby shopping centers and university opposite to the apartment. The service from leading office is good . Overall a good place to stay. Review from 3/05/15 on Apartment Ratings
Mar 2015: The office staff were extremely nice and helpful when I called and then made my initial visit. I have 2 large dogs and that was no problem at all. The apartment at move in was spotless and extremely welcoming with the sunshine pouring into the front room. Wonderful perk is the included washer and dryer. Great experience so far.
