Dec 2017: I’ve been apartment hunting in the area and I had a really great experience. By far the best stop I’ve had so far. Jessica was able to answer all my questions that I had. I felt very comfortable. I didn’t feel rushed. I was a little worried at the reviews but was so relieved I went! She was wonderful and the apartments are gorgeous. Dec 2017: I've lived here for almost a year now and have had nothing but great experiences! The managers and maintenance team are always very polite and professional. If you need anything, the manager Jessica should be your go-to! She is super sweet and helpful! I would 100% reccommend this complex to anyone looking! Had a friendly neighbor, no bugs, never felt scared living alone. BUT, terrible new management!!!!!!! They give you less than 12 hour notice for entering the apartment. I have a cat and had to find a place for him to go with less than a day notice. Mentioned to the management (Jessica Parker) that I would like more than a few hours notice prior to entering my apartment, no response. Incredibly overpriced as well. Dec 2017: Stayed there for about a year. Despite that bad reviews I read, I enjoyed my stay over there. Office's staff are helpful and always smiling which is a plus.
Amenities aren't the best you could find around the area, community is full of Indians, gates aren't working tho. But what I like about it is the calmness as well as the improvement that the office are trying to make every once in a while. Review from Google
Dec 2017: Have stayed in multiple apartment complexes around the area and this one is by far the worst. Most of the staff in the office is not only unfriendly and unapproachable, but clueless about what they are doing. The only one in the office who actually seems like she enjoys working there and with the residents is Jessica, the assistant manager. When signing our lease we were told about 100 wrong things about prices, the apartment available that we would be receiving, and many other things that in the days before move in we were told were wrong. The breezeways look disgusting from the trash service. Out of the 10+ packages we've received while living here, we were notified about them maybe 2 or 3 times. It took them halfway through our lease for the online portal to pay our rent to get set up. I assume they cleaned and steamed the carpets before we Review from Google
Jun 2017: My wife and I have been a residence at Berkeley Place since August of 2015. I am very surprised and shocked at all of the negative reviews. I am not saying that people are being untruthful, its just so hard to believe what I'm reading, it's just that If I had read these reviews before signing a lease I would have never moved here. My wife and I have experience nothing but good things since moving here. We LOVE our apartment. Yes, the staff keeps changing year to year. The faces may change but the professionalism and service always reflected the care and respect that you would expect from the properties managing office. The maintenance staff is AWESOME.

May 2017: Dont ever rent a place here. Their air conditioning/ heating sucks. So many summer days when I have stayed without AC and temps of 80+ in the apartment. And the lady was rude when I explain this to her saying you dont need to explain it.

Feb 2017: When my husband and I had only a short time to look for an apartment complex in Charlotte, Berkeley Place was the perfect fit. I found the apartment complex online and called to inquire about availability. I had such a wonderful experience with Jessica who went out of her way to ensure we found the perfect apartment unit within Berkeley Place. When I called the first time, there were a few options of apartments, however as soon as XXXX found out of a recent opening, she called me and went out of her way to inform me of the great news.

Nov 2016: If safety is a concern to you and your family ABSOLUTELY DO NOT move here. We have lived here for less than 6 months and there has been 3 burglaries with one involving a car having all their rims stolen while another vehicle was stolen. We were told the gates would be working when we moved in but when asked we are told the request was made to vendor but they are unsure when it will get fixed. There are no security cameras to track any suspicious activity. Our safety doesn't seem to be a concern. Instead, they tell you to get good renters insurance. If you want to live with a peace of mind this is NOT the place!

The maintenance guys are easier to talk to than the office staff! don't question the office ladies about policies or procedures. More than one or two questions and they are defensive and offended, as if you have no right to know these things that affect you, or as if they are common knowledge or practice. It's infuriating for someone who has come from a much more openly communicative and practical area of the country, and have never had to deal with some of it. The apartments are a decent size but laid out in ways that seriously limit furniture arrangement.

Review from 2/19/16 on GoogleFeb 2016: Nice complex, great location...TERRIBLE management. I was recently a victim of a burglary. The staff was unapologetic and refused to acknowledge information they were provided. Someone walked in a locked door, took an x-box, walked out, and locked the door again. This is NOT the only situation like this in the complex. The manager Leslie offered to send out a letter let the community know about what happened and one month later she still has not. When they found out I was burglarized they offered to change my locks at $35 per lock (3 total). They will NOT be getting any more of my money once my lease is up. RUN away from this place. Please review CMPD police reports for similar incidents before moving in.

Nov 2015: We just moved out of a 2 bedroom at Berkeley Place. We lived there for a year and enjoyed our stay. We had some minor repairs with during our stay and maintenance guys were always fast and friendly. The office people made us laugh when trying to pronounce our names but they tried. I liked the ice cream social a lot and sometimes they gave us surprise breakfast bags at the gates. It really made our stay in the area enjoyable.
Review from 11/3/2015 on Apartment RatingsNov 2015: Stay away from this place. They did not have the apartment cleaned before we moved in. It was disgusting. It is infested with toxic mold. We had a professional mold inspector come in as we suspected mold. The level of spores is not to exceed 300 count. The inspector tested only two of the rooms and tests showed over 17,000 level of spores! This is lethal. The maintenance super did a two minute walk through and said there was no mold. This is what he told the office. We moved out two months before the lease was up. We had the mold inspector come in and paid $450 since we were told we had to pay the balance of the lease plus $2500 for what they call a buy out. They don't care. Beware!

The main issues are the discrepancies in notices that they put on your door with dates and then make your responsible for their typo. The biggest issue is all those extra fees paying for which were additional money on top of the rent. When first moved it they made it seem the water was included with your bill, nope additional on top of rent. The payment for rent is also a hassle. The online system gives you a free option if it is an e-check which means if fund her bounce for whatever reason you are charged a 25 fine. Also your being punished for paying with a visa, and other forms of debit established cards.
