Jan 2018: I moved to University Oaks back in November of 2017, and I've had nothing but excellent service since day one. I had some issues prior to moving into the complex, and I fully disclosed all that information to then leasing agent Jaycee Neal. She made my moving process extremely smooth, and fast. Even though she moved up in the company, and is now the assistant manager for the property she stills finds time to take care of you! That's why I absolutely love her. I would recommend this property to anyone who's looking to move into something that's affordable. The maintenance staff responds quickly on all work orders. Jan 2018: This is my first time moving into a apartment. The apartment is all brand new and very nice. Having all new appliances was awesome. The management is super nice and made the process very clear and easy to understand. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else is Athens. I am happy to call this my home. It felt good to sign the lease not scary. Maintenance is very responsive and comes within 30 minutes each time. I would highly recommend coming to check this place out. Review from Google

May 2017: I've been shopping around for an apartment for a while and I went to University Oaks and I was pleasantly surprised. The new management really cleaned this place up! The renovations look really nice too. The office staff is super friendly. Definitely one of my top choices.

May 2017: I just moved in and I've been killing a Rach every 30 mins. I was charges 50 dollars for the month for using water and I have no access to water. I am not living in a 3rd World country and I can't even take a shower. The irony.

Jan 2017: I just wanna say that the reviews at this complex make no sense! I love living here and I dont have any of these problems. I dont have any bug problems but maybe thats because i actually clean my apartment. some of these people just be dirty. The office and my neighbors have been really nice. Location is perfect since i dont have a car, i can walk everywhere i need to go. Everything is so close and the price is real good since i get to have 2 pools and a work out room thats close by my apartment.

Now, the office staff are nice. XXXX and XXXX are sweethearts and try to solve issues any way they can. But that's the ONLY good thing I can say about this place.
Let's start with the DAY we move in. My boyfriend and I came from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which is about 4 and a half, to 5 hours away. We left at around 9 or 10 in the morning, central time. It took SEVEN hours because of continuous wrecks and awful traffic. We kept calling, but when we became stuck in Atlanta, I was informed that if we didn't get there by EXACTLY 5, they would lock the doors and not allow us to come sign our lease, or get our keys, even though we told them countless times that we were running extremely late because of traffic.

Apartment wasn't ready on our move in day after we had already arrived from moving out of state. Very unprofessional about maintenance requests. The maintenance requests made from our initial walk through before moving in still hadn't been resolved by the time we moved out. We never had a working smoke detector. Major roach and bug problem. Very uninformative about move out process and they will try to get more money out of you.

Also they don't really try to stay on top of appearance and maintenance in the complex. For example the laundry center is always a mess, or machines out of order (needs to be updated). It's seems to always be an abandoned car or broke down car somewhere that hasn't moved for months taking up parking! And nasty ass neighbors that leave their trash out on the porch for days at a time which bring bugs and wild animals at night! And management seems to keep letting it happen!

Since the new management has taken over they've become more inconsistent and they're terrible at problem solving. This is probably my least favorite housing situation since I've been in Athens -- and that's including living in a neighborhood where I was robbed.
I can't even think of a good reason to stay here. It's cheap but you get exactly what you pay for. The staff tries to be nice but it's all a ruse. The amenities are terrible, the unit itself is mediocre, and I've had to call the police more times than I care to talk about.
Seriously, if you can avoid it, go somewhere else.

First off I shopped around athens for a place that was within my budget but was also located near the places I wanted to go. I love downtown and I couldnt find anything affordable even remotely close.
After looking at a few different apartments in my price range and all of them on the east side which I wasnt thrilled about I found university.
Review from 3/28/16 on GoogleOct 2015: don't rent here. When you see the sign on Broad Street, just keep driving. I moved here a year and a half ago without too many minor issues. Sure, the original renovations are shoddy but they're livable and for the price I couldn't complain.
Then Stonemark management took over. Their first mistake was moving the dumpster from the back of the complex to the very front building. What a great way to get up in the morning, we have the sight and smell of the constantly over flowing dumpster.
What has come with the dumpster? Roaches. Which brings us to the next major issue. I work full time. it's hard for me to get a day off work.
