Oct 2018: I would like to say a big great thank you to London, she's nice and really went above and beyond with the new packaging system she did, it was a time where i could never find them and people in the office would be really mean when i asked them to help because of the mess, but she has made my experience here better. i only like speaking with her since she has come, how could someone be so nice yay. maintenance could be better, hopefully some new changes will come with that. Review from Google
Sep 2018: I have lived here for 2 years and my plan was to not renew my lease however the new management has been awesome. My work orders are done in a timely manner and it is just nice to see that we finally have a some people that care about the community. Keep it up!!! Review from Google
Jun 2018: The apartment is clean with hardwood floors on the first floor. The entire application process was extremely easy, and the staff, especially Keyounia Hudson, was very understanding with all my requests. However, I took a star away, because the maintenance can be a little more prompt with responding to my requests. Review from Google
Jun 2018: This place is great! My fiancee and I have been living here for a year now and we have zero complaints. At first we were skeptical about it being that its right by a University but to our pleasant surprise the neighborhood is very quiet. Also the management staff has been very helpful and accommodating. Renee, the property manager, has a very one on one hands on approach which I love. So much so that we signed on to live here another year before our current lease was up. Definitely give this place a try. Review from Google
Jun 2018: As we were looking for an apartment to my daughter close to school Keyounia Hudson was extremely helpful. She guided us through the whole process and understood what we needed and how much we could spend. She helped us through the whole process through emails and phone calls. Great job ! One of the reasons we signed there is because of how helpful she was. Review from Google
May 2018: Extremely disappointed with the staff. Had a pool party and it was a weekend and the bathrooms were disgusting. Toilets clogged and poopy water on the floor. Tried to BBQ but the propane tanks were empty. No one checks on these things here and its unfortunate. We were trying to have a good time but the bathrooms and no propane really was a bummer. Review from Google
May 2018: I rarely run across people with an exceptional work ethic, and am delighted to give Keyounia Hudson a commendation here. She gave us an excellent tour of the complex, and helped us find an ideal apartment for my recently widowed mother. Then she followed up well after hours to notify us during the application process. I will update with my impression of the apartment after move-in, but Key has confirmed my impression that Highland Lakes was the right choice. Review from Google
May 2018: We lived here for a couple years. The location was good for us, but we liked it less and less the longer we lived there. When our appliances had problems, they were replaced by older, uglier versions. The pool in the back is very often closed. The gym has not been updated or even thoroughly cleaned since we started living there. Also, when we finally moved out, they kept our security deposit against the terms of our lease. Apr 2018: Keyounia made our application process super easy and stress-free!! Definitely request to work with her if you are looking into leasing here. Review from Google
Apr 2018: Keyounia and Aubrey were extremely helpful and dedicated to making sure my housing transition to Highland Lakes was as smooth as possible. They took the time to carefully explain apartment housing and the lease details, making my experience at Highland the best it could possibly be. I cannot thank them enough for their assistance and would highly recommend any future residents to direct their questions to Keyounia and Aubrey at the leasing office! Review from Google
Mar 2018: Keyounia was amazing and she helped us throughout the process! The staff is very friendly and helpful! Review from Google
Mar 2018: I wish I could give minus rating. I've been here almost a year. This is worst ever. Poor service: 1. for the first day I moving in the furnished apartment, but it was not furnished at all, so slept at floor. On next day, visited office and told them no bed, no table, not furnished at all, nothing changed. On the third day, I talked to manager looks like higher position than any other employees , then only bed set up so that I could sleep on bed at least. At fourth day since moved in, everything set up. 2. took long time to fix gate card 3. took about three weeks to fix only one single light bulb. 4. Missing package somehow ...etc And the rent rate is absolutely high. I'm so happy to move out. Review from Google
Mar 2018: Rent is high but the location can't be beat. I tried finding a cheaper apartment but it was more than 10 miles away which in Atlanta/Decatur that's quite a ways with traffic. The apartments are very pretty and each one has a large balcony. The majority of renters here are students and they do party on the weekends and get loud but it doesn't bother me. Dog friendly but the dog park isn't great. It needs improvement. However the trail behind the apartments makes up for that. The gym is nice and the pools are great. Honeslty the location cant be beat if you're young and work in decatur. Everything from entertainment to great food is so close. I rarely get on the highway for anything. Every apartment has washer and dryers. I do wish the doors on the balcony had screens. Its a bummer that they don't. I cant leave the doors open because then b Review from Google
Feb 2018: I lived here for 2 years. The apartment is pretty good itself even though its awfully OVERRATED. However, if you are thinking about living here in long term, don't!!! I know this review is long but I hope you read this if you are considering this apartment. Their service is horrible. My first maintenance request was about master bedroom's light. I was not at home and the maintenance guy step on my bed with his shoes on(i can clearly see the foot print on my white sheet). After that, I never gave permission to enter my apartment without me being there but always just get in to my apartment whenever they want. I asked them not to but they said since this apartment is still their property, they can come in to my apartment whenever they want (apparently no privacy). So instead, I ask them to call me before coming to my apartment(the office peopl Review from Google
Jan 2018: Three flooded apartments in 3.5 years in three separate apartments caused by frozen pipes in the upstairs apartments or malfunctions in the sprinkler system. The first flood was three winters ago due to a frozen sprinkler pipe in the apartment upstairs. The most recent two of these floods happened in the last 8 days. Last week, multiple apartments in different buildings (mine included) flooded due to frozen pipes. Apparently they turned off water to the sprinklers then to stop further flooding. I moved out of my flooded apartment to a new one this weekend, and three days later they turned water back on to the sprinkler system to test it. Guess what, the new apartment flooded too. Do not move here. Live on the top floor if you must live here because if a flood happens in the top floor apartment, all the ones underneath will be affecte Review from Google
Jan 2018: I can get better customer service from a wet potato. -Edit: Finally fixed my gate card after almost two months +1 -Edit 2: Scuffed water bill. Over four months, my water bill has somehow increased from around $25 dollars to $60 for last month; and I didn't even live in the apartment for the past several weeks. (Will update once resolved) -1 Review from Google
Dec 2017: Me and my family like this community a lot. We have lived here 3 years. It is in a great neighborhood. Review from Google
Oct 2017: Rent is very high but the location can't be beat. The trash service is very annoying and there are too many rules to follow. There are 2 days in a row when trash doesn't get picked up yet they still expect us to have no more than 2 bags in that tiny box. The trash by the front door has brought bugs inside our apartment. It would be easier if there was just a dumpster within walking distance by each apartment building. There are no sidewalks yet this place claimed to be dog friendly. Every time I walk my dog I'm terrified a car will back out and hit my dog. (I got this apartment sight unseen) the dog park is a joke. It is not maintained and its a complete spider trap and my dog can fit under the fence. The Georgia peach walking trail is nearby but we don't have gated access. The assisted living next door has gated access but we don't. I think Review from Google
Sep 2017: Quite community the area has alot stores places to eat etc the property is well maintained but i think the rent is a little on the high side Review from Google
Apr 2017: We stayed at Highland lake apartment for almost 2 years and we really liked the apartment. We never had any issues related to anything. Any maintenance issues were timely addressed and Leasing office folks specially XXXX, XXXX were prompt and resolved any issues. Thanks for all your support and help team at Highland lake. May 2016: It doesn't deserve even star. 🚫For Saudi's and other friends I don't recommend this even if its near the university.🚫 Maintenance response is very weak and not solving serious issue if you have any. generally I won't recommend it especially if you have kids. I have leaking from the bathroom ceiling form apartment above me, now I'll complete about 6 months suffering the problem not fixed, and I'm in 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom and I rarely use the other bathroom, unfortunately I'm paying for it. What a shame,,, Review from 5/4/16 on Google
Feb 2016: There is dramatic decline in services, Bad maintenance respond, apartment seems never has any maintenance e.g. dish washer, You pay high for less services my advice don't rent here unless you see everything especially below sinks and behind kitchen wood. Review from 2/16/16 on Google
Nov 2015: Lived here for 8 years. Recently moved out after lease expired. This apartment complex is in a nice neighborhood, as in you won't see homeless people everywhere and the residents are mostly students and little families. The staff at the complex is decent, if you manage to be on good terms with certain agents like Miles or Nick (however, the female leasing agents and staff are pretty crappy and rude, and they always have an attitude, like Jen). There have been a few robberies (cars get broken into, apartments robbed), but ultimately nobody died. The main problem I have with this apartment is the people who live there. Apr 2015: I am pretty disappointed with my experience at Highland Lake turned out. I really liked the price and layout of my apartment. It was also very convenient to go to and from Emory. Most of the residents in this complex go to Emory, so if you aren't in college you may want to consider another place. This is a college town. It is very noisy and at night it reeks of weed. I live on the bottom floor and I can hear every move the people above me make, along with how many times they flush their toilets. Review from 4/18/15 on Apartment Ratings
