Aug 2019: Feels like home, with kind neighbors, green grass, and a nicely redone pool area.
Got right in as soon as my contract started. Management was friendly and answered all my questions. The appliances were all new, the walls were clean, and the floors had just been cleaned. Rent is surprisingly affordable for a college student, especially if you can find a friend to split it with (highly recommended).
The walk to campus is less than half a mile, with a Wal Mart right up the street. The only issue I have is that the cooling systems aren't quite up to par for keeping the units cool on hot summer days. You also have to set up your own WiFi, but its not the worst. Many of these reviews haven't been focusing on the positives of this place. Review from Google Apr 2019: The rent is reasonable . but there is dog poop everywhere. It is really bad nobody picks up. And you're not even supposed to have pets there. And the laundry room is always a filthy mess, and most of the washers leak. Review from Google Sep 2018: Management is very friendly and the maintenance people are fantastic! Review from Google Jun 2018: Beautiful campus with a great library. Faculty members who will take time to meet with students and even help them. It is easily the best university in the state and one of the better ones in the world. Review from Google May 2018: Brigham Young University has been voted 21st of the prettiest college campuses. It is a stunning campus nestled beneath the gorgeous Cascade mountains with the huge Y on it. BYU is known for their high standards in academics, integrity, and morality. The campus has beautiful landscaping, the buildings are kept up nicely and are beautifully designed. The student housing is new and nice. Great place to go for further education. Review from Google May 2018: Though living at university village COULD have been worse, since we have moved out 7 weeks ago, we are still waiting on our deposit check that was supposedly mailed 7 days ago. Either they have their own postal service or it is “conveniently†lost in the mail. Keep in mind, they pretend they have air conditioning, however a single unit runs three apartments and does not in any way, shape or form cool down the apartment during the summer. So plan on the extra cost of an external ac unit. We were told our apartment would be move in ready by a certain date and were introduced to a very raggedy apartment that we had to deep clean to get to look halfway decent. Needless to say, as far as the deposit check goes, it’s unacceptable, and university village can count on four 1 star reviews from us and our closest friends that also lived there if w Review from Google May 2018: Graduated in 2011 and still when I try to apply for a graphic design job they tell me my degree is worthless so now I have thousands of debt for something I can't use worst mistake of my life Review from Google Apr 2018: I went to school there more than 10 years ago and I have to say it was the worst college experience in my total education. It simply doesn't have Christian values at all. And frankly, I was assaulted by the dean in the physical education department simply for trying to schedule a retake of an exam. I realize he was stressed out for other reasons, but its not Christian to attempt to put a student into a sleeper hold. When reporting it to the campus police, they white washed it. In his embarrassment, he tried to have me expelled, and that didn't work he just got a mark on his own record. When I was there there was a lot of students that were unhappy, so much so that they rioted. Something that has been attempted to put down by the university for years. I was there and saw no less than 7000 people storm around campus destroying cars, th Review from Google Apr 2018: The best school on earth. Teaches scholarship in secular and spiritual fields. We are not afraid to preach of Christ here. I put "celestial kingdom" in my Garmin GPS and it calculated a route to BYU. Review from Google Apr 2018: I lived here for two years in their small one bedroom apartment. The price is really good for what you get. Its hard to find places in the area that are single bedroom that you can afford by yourself working full time but this place definitely fits the bill. I would probably still be living here if My boyfriend hadn't moved in. It just wasn't enough space for two people to live in. I was on the ground floor so the unit was easy to keep cool and warm and I loved that the utilities were flat rate per unit and included internet. It made budgeting very easy. Also the ground floor unites have a little back patio/yard area that are shared with a couple of other units that is awesome!
The first year I lived there was amazing, but this most recent summer they didn't open the pool, i think they were working on refurbishing it which was very disappoi Review from Google Mar 2018: I attended school here for 2 years of my undergraduate degree. It is a good education for the money. It is a safe environment. It is also very cold here in the winter time. The culture is very different here. I remember when i went to register for classes i was denied entry because i was not wearing socks with my shoes. It was so frustrating. That was a little extreme IMO. Review from Google Mar 2018: Not being from Utah, it is hard sometimes falling into this culture. However, the pros far outweigh the cons. There are lots of great people here from professors to students. The parking is atrocious and some of the staff is irrational and quite frankly rude, but the overall experience is amazing. Education and life cannot be any better than here in Provo at BYU Review from Google Feb 2018: Best university for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Very good university for people of other faiths—especially Christian—that support high morals and values for themselves or their children. The Honor Code is great because it allows you or your children to participate in a great learning experience without making mistakes you’ll regret later in life. The only downside to the University could be the lack of diversity but it’s nothing to lose sleep over. Review from Google Feb 2018: I transferred from Utah State University. Bless USU but their professors don't care as much as the professors at BYU. I am currently in the Marriott School of Business studying Marketing. I am amazed by the work put into every lecture by my business professors. The preparation of these elite professors has qualified me to become an elite professional in the business industry. Thanks BYU! Review from Google Feb 2018: I love this University! Rated #13 by recruiters for career-ready graduates. Low tuition. Emphasis on undergraduate mentored research (like no other I know). #1 "Stone Cold Sober" university, and the students still have fun! A great place to work. Review from Google Feb 2018: All of my family has gone to BYU and has come out with a quality eduacation. It’s a good place to be around good people that are morally clean and just want a strong education. It is a great place to have an awesome social life and strong friendship building place. Review from Google Feb 2018: The faculty are great at understanding the students to work with them on accomplishing their goals. As a student stumbles upon a challenge the mentor see a success and helps them understand to overcome. Review from Google Nov 2017: The majority of teachers I encountered didn't care to teach the subject they were supposed to, just wasted monumental amounts of our time and money. The school promises job placement and does not deliver. School says that the degree transfers, but it doesn't. I would not recommend this school to my worst enemy, and definitely not to a friend or family member. Review from Google Oct 2017: I am a member of their Program Advisory Board for the School of Business. I do this as a volunteer and business mentor. I like their approach in the fact they want to help their students receive a good education real life experience in order to become employable after graduation. That's why many of us serve on this board to help this school maintain the highest standards of education. Review from Google Sep 2017: Outstanding university with a talented pool of students. Situated in one of the most breathtakingly scenic locations for a university campus, with stunning mountains on the doorstep of the school, your walks to class will be often awe-inspiring. There has been a lot of updating on the campus. Make no mistake, this is a unique environment that won't be for everyone. But for active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or those who like the clean-cut environment, it is a great place to get an education. Though it has a well-deserved reputation as being very conservative, you will find a lot more political diversity here than you expect on many issues. And with the majority of students from outside the state of Utah, in many ways, it is more diverse than any other school in Utah, and less in the "bubble" than critics often c Review from Google Aug 2017: I've been living here almost 2 years now. They take MONTHS to fix any maintenance issues and they NEVER call you back when you leave a voicemail (which you have to do 9 times out of 10 times you call during business hours) and the worse of it all... they come in your apt when ever they want with NO notice at all!
Review from 8/6/17 on Google Jul 2017: My friend has lived here for about three months now and I have been here pretty much every day!! I have been dying to go swimming with them and it has taken a well over a month now for them to work on the pool and it still isn't done!! My friend complains on a daily basis about it being closed!!! This is the worst work I have seen!! Talk about customer relations!! And to top it off they wouldn't service the AC or swap cooler when it was well over 85 degrees in the apartment. When asked to do it they stated that it wasn't in their contract!! That's really good customer service right there!! don't live at this place!
Review from 7/14/17 on Google Mar 2017: We have enjoyed it here. It is perfect for the price, and in the best location to walk to UVU.
Review from 3/29/17 on Google Mar 2017: We have enjoyed it here. It is perfect for the price, and in the best location to walk to UVU. Review from Google Mar 2017: I give this school a 4/5 reason is because I met some amazing people in going here. Lots of new friendships were created. Also the fact the classes are actually geared towards the degree early on instead of UVSC which makes you take nothing but generals and it's a big waste of time at the beginning. By doing this way like Stevens least you know if that's the area you want to go in to for the long haul. Only reason is the school is expensive that's about it. Overall great staff and place.
