Apr 2019: This is not a bad place to live. However, expect for the water to be off about once a month, with staff making no attempts to reimburse or rectify this in any way. I have never lived in an apartment complex where this happens, and I sure won't be renewing my lease. It wouldn't be so bad if the staff seemed to care at least, or were better at letting people know. I don't think sending out an email is that difficult or bothersome, especially when the subject is NOT HAVING RUNNING WATER
Also, the rent has gone up about 80 dollars in the year that I have been here. It is not that bad, but I am able to find comparable prices, where I'm assuming I don't have to worry about not having water.
P.S. I have had the water cut off from me unexpectedly a few times (sometimes they do tell you the day before when you won't have any water the next day). Dec 2018: I created this account just to be able to rate this place. IF YOU WORK NIGHT SHIFT, AND EXPECT TO SLEEP IN PEACEFULLY IN THE MORNINGS, DO NOT LIVE HERE. EVERY SINGLE WEEK LIKE CLOCKWORK THERE ARE WORKERS OUTSIDE OF MY WINDOW WITH THE LOUDEST EQUIPMENT POSSIBLE. Staying for at least 30 mins to an hour fully blasting at 6 AM/7 AM UNTIL 8/9 AM. I am a hard worker and do not need this at such a senseless time. I’m writing this AFTER I HAVE BEEN WOKEN UP ONCE AGAIN, AND SADLY CANNOT EVEN GO BACK ASLEEP, BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL GOING AT IT. Kids play together and people smile at you, and rarely do I hear a ruckus going on outside (but it has woken me up a couple times, mostly it’s the riff raff). My biggest complaint is with the roaches and the staff response to them. They charge us monthly for pest control but have only sprayed a few times in the summer, which seems wrong to me. Apr 2018: I've lived here for just under 2 years now. Overall, it's a pretty good place to live for what we pay. Could be worse, but could also be better.
The Good:
- Rent price
- Carlos is super helpful with any maintenance issues and is always nice and prompt. He is always working hard.
- Unit layout and size
- Current office staff is nice and much better than when we moved in.
- Can always get parking in front of or not too far from my building.
- Close to downtown and the Loop
- Safe neighborhood
The Bad:
- The units need serious care/updating. The moldings, doors, walls, cabinets, etc. are all dented, stained, poorly painted, etc. Also, a lot of my kitchen draws screech upon opening because of age/being partially painted shut and there are permanent stains in the bathtubs and toilets since move in. Mar 2018: My husband, baby, and I have all lived at Georgia Green for 9 months now. We could not be any happier! Maintenance (Carlos) is always prompt. efficient, thorough, and kind. The office staff has consistently been awesome as well, always polite and friendly and welcoming! They've gone above and beyond for us on multiple occasions. The complex is also very quiet, safe, and friendly. It's been perfect for our little family. In our entire history of renting, we've never renewed a lease with any apartments. Jan 2018: I love living here at Georgia Green Apartments because management is very knowledgeable about my lease and they are very quick with all work orders I have placed. I love the fact that when I walk into the office, I am greeted by name and they even remember which apartment I live in. That shows me that they make is a personal experience every time I enter or any other resident. They do a great job with keeping up with my packages in the office and with letting me know when they have arrived. The maintenance completes my work orders quickly and I see the courtesy officer walking the property during different times of the night. July 2017 we moved in and on paper, this place seems great! Day 1 (move in day)... we get to Athens and move in all of our furniture, clothing, etc... we notice a few German cockroaches however, the manger assures us that they will be gone in the next few days because they’ve treated the place. That night, I kid you not, we saw about 50 roaches running around on the kitchen counters, in cabinets, on the floor, on our furniture... the place was infested!!! We couldn’t stay at the apartment that night because it was SO DISGUSTING! Review from 6/11/17 on GoogleDec 2016: If i could give 0 stars i would but i am doing 1 simply because the new lady the Caucasian lady is extremely courteous and sweet. I have been bitten by poisonous spiders since i moved here this year. Got out of the shower tonight and discovered my kitchen floor covered in water. Why? Because there is a sink hole in my bathroom upstairs and water has came through and is leaking all over through the ceiling. Maintenance guy tried hooking up with my wife and gave her his number and told us not to call the front office about maintenance issues anymore. I reported this to the lady in the front office and the owner of the property and all the lady who owns the property did was offer a portion off our rent that we have NEVER SEEN yet. This was in October. The only nice person in the office is the Caucasian lady i can't remember her name.
