Hi, Loading...

Jul 2019: This is hard for me since I did live there 3 years and never had any real problems till I moved out. 4 days before moving out they unlawfully entered my apartment and charged me 50$ for having a child's safety gate that was not permitted and a deflated baby pool in the back corner that we were going to throw out. Upon moving out they charged me for new counters and flooring!!! Apparently I'm not the only one they have done this too. I bleached and vacuumed the place before leaving. Carpet looked great except for a few spots in the living room that could have easily come up upon being washed. Counter tops were in great condition, normal wear and tear all around. When I called to discuse it I was told I had completely damaged the floor and counters???? You can imagine my reaction upon hearing such nonsense I am currently taking it up with their corporate office Review from Google
May 2019: They act friendly, but they don't care. I lived there for three years. When our lease ended, they illegally charged us for carpet and counter tops. By law, they can't charge for normal wear and tear. Also, we were told when we moved in that our counter tops, which were already worn, wouldn't be charged against us. It was, though. Management switched and they said they didn't have proof that the previous manager said that. They said our carpets were damaged, but they weren't at all. When they provided pictures, which I had to repeatedly ask for, none of the pictures showed any abnormal damage. The lady in the office even said that they were charging us simply because they needed replaced, not even because we did any damaged, which we didn't. They do this because nobody ever does anything about it. Also, for the entire two weeks, before the lease was ended, they dumpsters were outrageously overfilled and trash was thrown all around the area Review from Google
May 2019: I’ve really enjoyed living here. Prior to living here I was living in a place that didn’t care about there residents and charged constant fees(in San Marcos a lot of the housing is student living and run normally by management who doesn’t really care and just wants money) But here I can say there very professional, they care if there is a problem, and every time I have a maintenance request it’s always attended to in a timely manor. I think the price you pay is worth it considering everywhere else it’s a lot higher. Major pros to living here is it’s quite I very rarely hear my neighbors, the grounds are well kept, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and it’s in a good spot in town. Also to add when we moved in it was so clean and well maintained, I fell in love with the space. The only major cons I would say is parking spaces are very limited especially early mornings and around the end of the day . Other than that I would definitely recommend living here. Review from Google
Nov 2018: I have lived here three months and my experience is as follows: you get what you pay for. The rent is relatively cheap compared to everything else is San Marcos about $990 for a 2x2. Because it is cheap, things break more often but quickly get repaired. Maintenance is great. The atmosphere is pretty quiet, grounds are clean, staff is nice and welcoming! It's one of the only in San Marcos that is cheaper and pet friendly for all sizes and breeds. Here's some pros and cons: Pros: Cheap, pet friendly, good appliances for how old the apartment is, great maintenance, friendly staff, tucked away but close to Texas State(about a mile away), close to Walmart and HEB, near I35, right behind a DQ(yum!), quiet, apartment tries to make social events and good communication between staff and renters. Cons: the water is always being worked on so it's off a lo Review from Google
May 2018: Super friendly staff! The grounds were really well taken care of as was the pool area. There were several residents hanging out and all seemed really friendly with the staff. There is a volleyball net in (and out of) the pool as well as several grills located around the pool area. It's also within walking distance to a few shopping plazas. Review from Google
Apr 2018: Grounds are well maintained and clean. Front office is friendly and always willing to work with you. Residents are great and I've never felt unsafe or uncomfortable in the area. Very pet friendly. Review from Google
Mar 2018: I've lived here for almost 2 years and love it. The staff is very nice and helpful. The price is great, and the location is good if you are a student or need quick access to I-35. Review from Google
Jan 2018: The staff is very kind and friendly. They keep the community updated on things happening in the complex. It's quite old, so the interior shows, and the water isn't a consistent temperature. Its always hot or cold or warm and cold even after they have the water serviced. They are making changes I can tell, so time will tell how much better it gets. Very comfy and cozy apartment to live in though. Nice views, and small enough the maintenance guys can get to you soon enough. Review from Google

Aug 2017: I have lived at Clarewood Apartments for four years. Honestly had a great experience living here. I should mention, however, that a lot of what the other reviewers are saying about the broken stuff in the apartment is true. But I never let that dictate or control what kind of experience I was going to have there. Sure, the apartments were old, so things were needing updates. But there was never one time that maintenance did not fix something that I needed help with. And maintenance was ALWAYS there quickly. The quickest time I had ever received help from them was FIVE MINUTES after I submitted my maintenance request. They were probably the biggest reason for my staying there so long. I have lived in many apartments, but this was the first apartment where maintenance was on it all the time. They were awesome. Management was in and out. No one Review from Google
Jun 2017: If I could rate 0 stars I would, Clarewood makes you pay your own water bill BUT DOES NOT GIVE EACH UNIT A WATER HEATER, you will NEVER have hot water. I took a shower at 1230AM and had 0 hot water. I've lived here for nearly two years and I honestly cannot wait to move from this hell hole! New management is inept and cannot even do their jobs correctly, the hot tub water is literally green!!!!!!!!!! They constantly send messages about "cleaning up clarewood", but they should be cleaned up and fired themselves. Review from 6/13/17 on Google
Apr 2017: I've really enjoyed living here. Wish they had a dog park. I love how pet friendly they are and maintenance has never failed. Office staff is very nice and helpful as well. Only issue I had awhile back ago was a bad leak but they fixed that within the week. Apartments get really hot during the summer but that's probably because of the carpet. :) Love it here Review from 4/16/17 on Google

Jan 2017: I have lived in many residences in San Marcos and I can say with certainty that Clarewood is the "best" residence that I have found so far where you will get the most bang for your buck. For me this is the nicest and concurrently the most affordable apartment complex around. The pros are the stack-able washer and dryer, great maintenance, appliances work relatively well, and overall a laid back atmosphere. If you can go without the extra amenities such as an upgraded club house, a weight room, etc it should be a great fit. A con I would have to say is that due to it being an older complex appliances tend to malfunction somewhat frequently. However, maintenance is quick to fix any problem so that is surely a huge plus as I have lived at complexes with horrible maintenance. Another con for me personally is during cricket season a seemingly endle Review from Google
Jan 2017: OK, so I know there are always going to be pros & Cons to living in an apartment, but after only four short months into our 12 month lease, my husband & I are already seriously considering terminating our lease. The good: the apartments are spacious & the patios have a lot of space to work with, maintenance has always been very friendly & usually arrive the same day we put our work orders in, & for the most part the complex is quiet. The location is convenient, the appliances are nicer, & the curb appeal isn't all that bad. The complex is pet friendly & seemed to offer everything that we were looking for. Dec 2016: It is nice, there are some loud people and dirty people that use the BBQ pits and stuff outside during the summer time but the staff does their best to clean up the mess that they made. Mostly it is pretty quiet and problems are fixed quickly. Review from 12/4/16 on Apartment Ratings
Nov 2016: On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a rating of a 4, with the reason being that for the price of the rent, the low budget appliances, and with the limited amenities you don't receive the quality for what you pay for. On a good note, the location is convenient. Review from 11/5/16 on Apartment Ratings
Apr 2016: It's really nice and quiet here. staff is super nice and caring. helps out a lot with minor problems. very close to everything. the people are friendly and the kids are nice. overall a really great place to stay. everyone respects the quiet hours and the pool is never closed. Apr 2016: Very nice community. Clean and safe area. Friendly office and maintenance staff who try to listen to and help with any problems. I am moving out only in order to be closer to work and to be a bit further away from the river and possible flooding. Review from 4/13/16 on Apartment Ratings
Apr 2016: If there is any amount of unhappiness coming from me, it's all my neighbors' fault. I've had awesome neighbors here from 2013-August 2015 and now it sucks. Maintenance and office staff are literally the best ever. Neighbors now suck. Bad. Review from 4/11/16 on Apartment Ratings
Nov 2015: We have lived in Clarewood since the end of September, and we have found it to be a wonderful place for our family. The staff and management is prompt and friendly. The location is amazing for everything around town and the surrounding areas. Review from 11/6/15 on Apartment Ratings
Oct 2015: Wonderful place to live! Conveniently located, well kept, affordable housing. I'll live here as long as I'm in San Marcos! The office and maintenance staff clearly love and take pride in what they do. And they love dogs too! It's a nice quiet place to call home. Review from 10/21/15 on Apartment Ratings
Oct 2015: The application process was easy and I liked that they were willing to work with my situation. The apartment looked great when we moved in and I love how much space we have but mostly I love the feel of home that this community actually brings out. Review from 10/11/15 on Apartment Ratings
