Aug 2018: I had a tour of the Marc just the other day, and it was an absolutely great experience. Our leasing consultant was extremely sweet and helpful. I do not have anything negative to say about it at all. But I am still waiting for my welcome e-mail ☺ï¸. Anyways, the community looked very well taken care of and the aminities seem great! Jun 2018: PLEASE READ & UNDERSTAND. This is BY FAR the worst apartment complex and management staff in the universe. I do not spend time doing Google reviews on much, but I can ensure you (especially if you have children) that the worst decision for a place to live is The Marc. Not one negative review you read is inaccurate. Every time I go into my kitchen or bathroom at night, there are large cockroaches (the kind that an fly) running along the floors and countertops and no, I do not leave out food residue nor am I an untidy/unsanitary person. Went throughout winter without hot water and have suffered through the hot spring time without ANY air conditioning.

Jun 2018: I've been living here for almost a year now and originally before they got new owners I hated this place. I constantly was having issues of hot water and pest issues but when the new owners came in it has been a lot better. Their maintenance crew has been amazing, I one time had my fridge break and they were able to give me a new one within 1 day, something the previous owners and maintenance would have never done before. I've been very impress with the new owners so far and they've been doing a good job fixing up this place. They've given me a brand new A.C. system, new windows, and the water has been so much better. Jun 2018: DO NOT LIVE HERE! This is the worst place I’ve ever seen, ever! And not safe at all. Wanna rate it zero star but the system won’t even allow me to. Horrible maintenance & management, with lots of security concerns. The management team are rude with no respect to the residents. All they care about is your $$. Constantly run out of hot water or no water at all. I was told to go to the university Rec center to take shower because they did not know when they can fix the boiler during the summer time. Had no AC for months all year round, especially in the winter and summer. All they can give u is a window unit in one room with no apologies. I placed work orders right after I moved in. Jun 2018: Despite what people say, I can honestly say i am pleased with Erica and the staff there. I was unhappy with the apartment assigned to me and they did the right by me by placing me in a nice apartment poolside. They are under new management and everyone deserves a fair chance. I have been living in here since March and I can say the only thing I like about this place is the maintenance. Ramiro and Vincent. They are some really nice people. When we moved in our house we didn't have AC and had to deal with it for weeks cause the office manager love to lie to get out her face and give you the run around. However when we got the AC fixed they left the unit uncovered. We was told that someone would come the next day to fix it and that was in March. Ramiro and Vincent can and cover it cause I had to make a new work order for a job they label as complete. I was frustrated cause everytime the AC came on and off it would blow debris on the floor. I have a baby that crawls. So I was always worried that he might get into it. And I didn't see no point of calling the office cause they already knew the problem. Thank Review from Google

Mar 2018: I have lived here for 2 years so far and it is awful! On the 505 side where I live, there has been a constant string of crime that happens to where I don't feel safe where I sleep at all! Last year, my car even got broken into and about a month ago, two thugs were actually fighting right in front of my vehicle and scratched the paint. When I reported this to the leasing office, the only thing they could offer was to move me to a different unit but I would have to pay a transfer fee to move to a more expensive apartment. The neighbors are always smoking weed to the point where we smell it all over our apartment, but the management doesn't care about that. The walls are incredibly thin and there's a lot of signs of wear and tear that makes the unit feel gross no matter how much cleaning my roommate and I do. I am standing in front of my apartment in a cold winter night wondering how I am going to survive the long night. First, hot water was shut down and now, no electricity in my block. So many questions I can't answer. How do i microwave my dinner? How do I get some work done on my computer? Warm shower tonight and early next morning? How do i even get a good sleep in the cold? The management doesn't consider it necessary to acknowledge the situation, not to talk of apologizing to the affected (unimportant) tenants. Yet they threaten with eviction over $10 of insurance payment. If this is not cruelty, I wonder what it is.

This complex should not advertise towards college students because it is just down right dangerous to live here. Take my own experience for example. I lived there for one year about two years ago. It truly was and still is the worst place to live in College Station. No hot water for weeks at a time, AC cannot even blow out cold air, and the mailbox and the time I was living there was a joke. The whole thing was about to fall apart. My old roommate who still lives there is still suffering these conditions. Bed bugs and fleas, no hot water, break-ins at her building, 50 degree temps in her apartment during the winter because of the lack of insulation, mold growing in the bathrooms, and so much more. We always have AC problem. It goes out once in a month and it takes maintenance one month to fix it. You can exactly feel outside temperature when you are inside. Nov 2017: The Marc has the most aloof employees I've ever seen on earth. Today I went to the leasing office to pay my balance due. There's only one staff at the front desk (I won't disclose her name, but I'm having her signature). My experience with her is like squeezing a toothpaste: I squeezed a little bit, your information came out A LITTLE BIT. The conversation is as follows (I'm definitely polite and I barely piss people off in a conversation):
Me: can I pay with cash?
S: We don't accept cash. (Silence)
Me: How can I pay it?
S: You can pay with money order. (Silence)
Me: How can I do the money order?
S: Go to that store. (Silence)
Me: Where is it?
S: It's over there(finger pointing outside.Silence).
Me: Do I need to bring it back to the office?
S: Yes.
After I came back. She took out a template and had me sign the money order.

Oct 2017: I moved in late August. On the first day of move in my roommate and I submitted a work order for our washer since it does not work. It is now October and our washer is still not fixed. We are currently on our third submitted work order and have called regularly. In every conversation we are told the exact same thing- someone will be there this week. It has been seven weeks. Laundry mat trips are an unnecessary cost that we really shouldn't be paying for. Police cars are constantly here due to who knows what. don't be fooled by the room model they show you. It doesn't look like that. The apartment itself is passable. Taking legal action seems to be the next step.
The price may seem to make everything balance out, but you can definitely find something better for a decent price. Do yourself a favor and read the google reviews. They don't take care of packages dropped off at the office until picked up by the resident. They cared more about finishing a pool then fixing the hot water, during the winter. After that, everything went downhill. I was given two applications for lease with no differentiating factors and "signed the wrong one" and did not get the layout I was promised. Did not get the washer and dryer I was promised. Did not get the $250 signing bonus I was promised. On top of all that, I received a late fee for August even though I received an email telling me it was not due. In order to talk to a property manager, I had to wait for over an hour and a half with no one checking in on me and leasing agents talking about taco bell and complaining about tenants. When I confronted the manager, she told me that because it was the corporate office who sent that email it wasn't binding and I had to pay the fee anyways because the local office sent a different emaiApr 2017: Ive lived here 2 months and definately will not be renewing my lease. Their maintnence department is incompetent and the crime rate is rediculous on the 505 side. Also, their staff is never on the same page, Ive been promised one thing and told another on multiple occasions.
Review from 4/19/17 on GoogleApr 2017: If you like regularly living without AC and hot water then this is the place for you. My air conditioner in my unit goes out about once ever other month, and most of the time that is does go out it takes more than one visit from maintenance to get it to work and stay working for another few weeks. Hot water issue isn't as common as it used to be but it used to seem like a 50/50 chance that I was going to come home and take a cold shower.

First, I had a leak in my kitchen and bathroom sink that ruined both of my rugs. The maintenance guy only fixed my bathroom sink, but the kitchen sink still leaks. Not to mention that the maintenance guy made a mess while fixing my sink and did not even clean it up. Than my AC went out and I had to be stuck in the apartment while it was 80 degrees. The maintenance guy comes and gets the AC running but than my apartment went all the way down to 50 degrees when I set it on 75 than the next day the AC starts leaking a lot of water so I call for maintenance again and he comes and "fix" the leak but it is still leaking!
