Mar 2018: Visitor parking section is horrible, should have more parking, instead of having people fight over spots when there clearly could be much more. Review from Google
Jan 2018: Apartments are nice...beware of management companies...depending on who manage your apartment you may or may not have good experience...great location and very close to ncsu
Nov 2017: Great place to live if you're a college student looking for a group living arrangement. Review from Google
Oct 2017: great apartments for great place...Our apartment was managed by landlord so he was very thorough in selecting tenants as well maintained the apartment very well
Sep 2017: To live in most of them are ok they are not the nicest apartments but for the price they are good. The management company is really nice I love Collin and Liz! Review from Google
Jul 2017: I never rent anything at here, but last week, I got a Equifax Report from my next rental company, and it said to me that I own almost $2000 to University Woods. I am not joking, and it made me have a bad time to prove my good credit history. And the day 08/28/2015, they give me this kind of balance I even didn't in USA, because my VISA is issued at 06/08/2016 and my first visit to America is 08/05/2016. I am disputing with Equifax now, hope they will find out the truth. But It makes me think that University Woods maybe a company that has chaotic management and poor treatment. Review from Google
Jun 2017: Well maintained community .. close to everything .. our unit was managed by landlord so we had no issues
May 2017: A terrible place. Had tire slashings, crazed/violent neighbors(think breaking and entering with a weapon, and criminal records when you look them up), trash everywhere, dishonest staff, broken appliances, flooded kitchen, etc. Preiss needs to shut this place down immediately. Never had allergies until I lived here either... Review from Google

May 2017: Not at all. To start, upon move in, my bedroom door was broken(as if kicked in) and it wasn't replaced until a day later. Next, came the flooding of the kitchen. Our fridge flooded our kitchen 5 times to date, and the company wont get us a new one. Our dryer also broke for roughly 2 weeks before we were able to get it replaced, only by physically showing up. Thats not the worst though. 2 of my roommates had their tires slashed one night, as did about 20 or so cars around our building. To top it off, a crazed yelling neighbor beat down another neighbor's door with a sharpened hatchet, and he hit our door as well. Also, the people here aren't college students for the most part, just the loitering, littering lot all too common in cities. just avoid at all costs Review from 5/24/17 on Apartment Ratings
May 2017: The community has improved greatly recently and has been well maintained. Top floor and second floors are definitely better. We had no issues overall.
Apr 2017: Recently moved here. Very close to campus. Great student housing. Nothing different than other student housing. Make sure to go with good management company. Landlords are always better as they take care of the property and have personal interest
Apr 2017: If you have to lease with Preiss, might as well stay as cheap as possible. Maintenance was quickly responsive and helpful. The buildings are dated but it's a pretty average complex. Expect a few cockroaches no matter what floor you're on. You get to use the amenities (except for the shuttle) at UV2505 which is nice. Review from Google
Jan 2017: Great community. Our apartment was very quite and cozy. All apartments are inviduakky owned so everyone's experience will be different. Our landlord was really nice. Great price and very close to NCSU. Review from 1/27/17 on Apartment Rating
Oct 2016: Great place to live if you like thumping music through your walls, having to walk through crowds of drunken college kids who obnoxiously engage with you when you're trying to just get home after a long day of work, and a room that smells like weed all of the time. Hope you don't mind your clothes stinking like it. Wilson Property Management will do nothing about the music or weed stink even if it's the day you move in. You want out? 800 dollars gone and you have to find someone who will take the lease over for you. They'll show you a quiet, clean room devoid of weed stank. Then when you get something you didn't sign for they'll do nothing. Review from 10/26/16 on Apartment Ratings
Aug 2016: XXXX and XXXX are very rude. They hung up on me and my father, I had a broken fridge, flooded kitchen, broken washer machine and everything was replaced on their time. (3-5 days) they aren't negotiating with me or trying to. You can't have company but last time I checked this was an apartment for STUDENTS and not whole families, notifying me about payments or ongoing things with the apartment. Change documents at last minute and gets frustrated when someone corrects them. DO NOT MOVE HERE! it sucks. Any good reviews are the workers themselves. Review from 8/10/16 on Apartment Ratings
Jun 2016: These apartments are individual owned as well as some are managed by different property managements. Hence if your have had bad experience with one apartment owner doesn't mean that every owner is that way. If you have had bad experience then don't trash the whole complex. Make sure you mention the apartment umber and building number to be precise.
Aug 2015: This place absolutely awful. I have tried to contact the manager Elizabeth but she is too busy to return a call. We moved in to apt that was filthy and smelled like smoke and was never cleaned until after we complained multiple times. This is totally unacceptable and would never recommend. Jul 2015: After living at U Woods, and reading some of the reviews, I fully agree with the terrible and awful things said. The cons far, far outweigh the pros, and even if you need to live here because it's cheap- get a second job before considering this place (especially on the older side.) First off, the apartments aren't just for students like management tells you. There are people who own certain individual apartments that rent out to much older people- people that have multiple kids, people that look like they just got out of jail and just needed a cheap place to stay. Every building has AT LEAST one of these individually owned apartments, and you will see people that are far older that should not be in student type of apartments. Mar 2014: Living here is okay. But maintenance is very noisy and without any questions they reported I had illegal guests. My boyfriend comes over often but doesn't live with me. Then they try and tell me how often he can be there and when... Last time I checked I didn't live in a dorm and I pay for a place to stay, who I have over should be none of there concern unless my roommates have a problem (which they don't). I just don't appreciate being accused of something and being threatened to fix the problem. The lights in the building don't work so at night it is way too dark and a bit scary give or take I live on the third floor. The neighbors complain a lot which I feel as though if they didn't want any noise every now and then they shouldn't live in a college type environment. Management is okay sometimes. Feb 2014: I lived here for one year in college and had THE WORST experience of my life. We had an infestation of cockroaches behind our dishwasher that originated from the people that lived there before us. At night when we would come home and turn on a light, hundreds of cockroaches would scatter all across the place. We talked to management about it and they sent the same people to spray twice and nothing happened. After nothing changed, we took PICTURES of the cockroach nest and physically put them on the desk of the management before they called the real pest control. If you are a woman, don't live here. I was literally grabbed by drunk men one night as I was going up the stairs to my third story apartment. People are out smoking, drinking, and yelling at all hours of the night. don't. Just don't. Apr 2013: I enjoyed my time at University Woods (though, after two years of living on campus, I would have probably been happy anywhere). There's a CAT bus stop within walking distance, which saved me a lot of money in gas and NC State parking permits. The management is hands-off for the most part but quickly responds to questions and maintenance requests. The staff is helpful and friendly with the exception of a couple of individuals. The apartments are a good size. The water pressure's not so great, and my shower is either too hot or too cold but never just right. Finding a parking spot was never a problem for me. There are several visitor spots on both sides of the complex for friends. Anonymous review from 4/16/2013 on Apartment Ratings
Jan 2013: Okay, these apartments are obviously not the Taj Mahal, but they're not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Here is this list of pros and cons: Pros: -It's cheap -It's close to NC State, Cary, Downtown and not that far of a drive from Wake Tech. -Easy parking -Spacious and provides a bathroom for each tenant. Cons: -Walls are thin. If you are thinking about moving into an apartment here and you haven't signed the lease yet, I'd advise coming by here at different times of the day to see if you would be inheriting loud neighbors. I am fortunate and have little problems with noise. -I hate to sound conceited, but a lot of people who live here are...well, party animals for lack of a better word. I'd say it's an even split between Wake Tech students and NC State students here. Anonymous review from 1/17/2013 on Apartment Ratings
Jan 2013: I had to move out due to mold there, it was in apt. 104, however the mold was so bad that an inspector advised me to go to the hospital and I stayed in apt. 204. Priess company wouldn't help me at all in contacting the owner of the building so I could get something signed so I could get my hospital bills paid. They also ripped the apartment apart without saving any samples of the mold for residents that could have possibly been infected. I ended up just waiting it out, and I am fine, but I did throw out my food. Priess company is not good people. Anonymous review from 1/3/2013 on Apartment Ratings
