Knoxville offers affordable apartments to its residents, UT Students. There are a few neighborhoods located close to the campus, with students being the majority of its residents:

Fort Sanders: The Fort Sanders neighborhood is located west of the Downtown area and North of the University of Tennessee campus. Cumberland Ave is commonly referred to as the Strip. The strip offers just about anything a college student could possibly need. It has book stores, coffee shops, night life, movie theater, and access to UT campus for those heavy nights of studying.

Beaumont: As with several areas of North/Downtown Knoxville, these residents are mostly college students. With close proximity to Downtown and UT campus, this spot is a great fit for college students.

College Hill: College Hill is aimed at college students. It offers close proximity to UT campus and all the necessities of college life. Some of these include shopping, restaurants, night life, and of course good coffee shops.

Transportation along the campus is provided by The University of Tennessee’s transit system, “The T”, the service is fare-free. The T services UT campus and portions of the Fort Sanders and College Hill with four fixed routes.
