Apr 2016: Manager's response to last review review: In response to the poor review from XXXX, I would offer that we do not have a record of James Alex living at UV so I am not sure he is qualified to review our property as a resident and I am not sure what experience he has had to make him feel this way about our property. Also all of our 5 star reviews are hard earned and hopefully well deserved. Of course, I am very proud of our staff at UV and encourage them to treat all customers and prospects with courtesy and respect at all times. They usually go above and beyond and rarely let me down in this area. I also encourage employees to not allow residents and prospects to be rude and inconsiderate to them either as many people need lessons in handling themselves in a professional manner. Feb 2016: don't believe the 5 star reviews, they are written by staff employees themselves to bring up their rating. First of all, the apartments are overpriced. There are other student apartments that come with TV's installed, fully furnished, have better amenities, with a nicer inside by the surrounding area. The staff is absolutely terrible, and rude. Jessica and majority of the staff are unprofessional. There are also bugs in the rooms until the winter approaches. The parking is awful as well, there is no where to park ever. Sep 2015: I am so glad I made the decision to live here! The staff is incredibly friendly. Ed, the manager, has been nothing but helpful and patient with my questions. They have actually gone out of their way to help me and make sure I understand everything. It is pretty quiet here, the internet is really good, there are no electricity overages, and the maintenance staff has finished my requests that same day. The only single thing I wash was different is that they allowed pets. Other than that, choosing to live here has been the best decision I have made! Review from 9/20/2015 on Google
Aug 2015: This is a great place to live, particularly if you are a graduate student or new faculty. Location is ideal and the maintenance staff is always prompt. Furnishings are new and always attractive. Landscaping is consistently well-maintained and the facilities are bright and clean. Staff is responsive and able to take care of issues related to after hour needs. I definitely recommend UVA if you plan to stay for several years for Graduate School. Review from 8/25/2015 on Google
Aug 2015: The staff are pathetic, rude, uneducated, and a joke in general!!!! They could care less about any problems that you may have. The owner/general manager, Ed Maddox is a dishonorable, dishonest, crooked, backwoods hick that seeks to make a profit off of students and will take advantage when possible. Apartments are DIS-GUST-ING!!!! THE DAY I moved in... vomit stains on the carpet, trash everywhere, a horrid smell lingering, broken appliances, the bath was clogged with hair and gunk. (I had to clean it up myself.................................) THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON PEOPLE!!!!! I'm trying to help you when I say: "DO NOT LIVE HERE! DO NOOOOT LIVEE HERE!" Jul 2015: Although maintenance is a little slow during the year, I never had many maintenance problems, so everything worked out pretty well. Overages are pretty rare, and starting August 2015, they're cutting them out completely, so it's definitely a great choice. Especially for people who don't want to get up early to walk to class.
Dec 2014: Everything so far has been pretty good. I gave overall 3.5 stars. My apartment is slowly falling apart with appliances and carpet... I don't necessarily agree with the amounts of overages each month, but I understand the reason for them. There aren't many complaints besides that. I love the community. I like the layout of the apartments. I like the furniture. Review from 12/30/14 on Apartment Ratings
