Nov 2017: 1 star is far too much credit to give to The Mark. The Gila monster painting, “luxury†pool, and bright colors are a gimmick to get you to sign giving you the illusion that this place is fancy and worth your time. I saw a review where someone was charged 100$ as a cleaning fee but the mark doesn’t even have a cleaning staff when I arrived at my apartment it was filthy and covered in hair and was in need of several repairs In addition with that my apartment came with my very own infestation of cockroaches and not only that but bed bugs !!! :-D as you can probably assume dealing with the my repugnant guest that feed on me while I slept was a great experience. But not as great as dealing with the disrespectful hardheaded greedy Regional Manager named Lisa. Nov 2017: Living experience in this place was a nightmare. Office members changed 3 months ago and they so rude and aggressive. You can smell the weed every minute, all place is infested by roaches and have bed bug problem too. However, office doesn't take care of these problems. What office wants is scam resident's money as much as possible. Review from GoogleAug 2017: Would give 0 stars if possible. Before the management change this place was ok but now they try to scam you for as much money as possible. When I left my apartment the only thing I did not do was sweep. I was charged a 150$ fee for cleaning. They also charged me 100$ for paint for ONLY the door. I was also suppose to be able to pay the fees online but it never showed on my account and then they sent it to collections so I was charged even more. They do whatever they can to scam you out of as much money as possible. They used to have variable leases but changed to 12 month leases to scam students for more money. They add a pool and try to call this place luxurious when it is not even close. don't be fooled, there are better, cheaper places out there. Review from Google
Jun 2017: As we approach our lease ending this year, it made me recollect about my stay at the mark. I haven't had the opportunity to stay in other apartments around tempe, but I will safely say that this is the worst. I am sorry for everyone's terrible stories that I am seeing, but I'm not surprised. I didn't think this place could get any worse from when I stayed there, but it looks like they found a way to surprise me. As we signed our lease for the mark (I won't capitalize it because I'm petty and don't think it's deserving of being a pronoun), a gentleman literally told us not to sign it and said it's awful.

We have had so many problems including the "included utilities in the rent" that never work like the water will be completely off for hours ( this happened at least 3 times a month), the hot water was turned off for an entire week couldn't shower at all. The laundry rooms flood and close at 10pm so can never do laundry if you work late like i do. The management NEVER has responded with helpful or even have any empathy towards tenants. They put things off and do not answer questions sufficiently. This place is the worst and I would not recommend it to anyone.

May 2017: So I barely moved in the month of August and I'll tell you my experience.
So these apartments are honestly pretty good. Problem is management does make a lot of mistakes and things go wrong as well, but they fix it in a timely manner. But it's only the first month so there's bound to be errors.
I moved in the day after but my room mate tried to move in on the move in date. They didn't have our keys prepared, but they let her move her stuff in then come back tomorrow.. Even though it was the move in date it was odd. Also they mistaked our apartment with the one next to it and cleaned that one, thinking that was ours and ended up not being so they had to clean ours as well.

May 2017: 0 stars would be appropriate, 1 out of 5 is generous.
The place is completely infested with roaches; the floors aren't even sealed so the roaches freely run in and out of the walls. No complementary guest parking is available after 5pm and they have the same tow truck outside daily to enforce this. Currently there is no hot water in the entire complex and it has been this way for a few days. This is the start.... Safe to say I will not renew nor recommend this place to anyone.

Tenants you all need to enforce this place makes better judgement on who they rent to, enforce they get your work orders done and the way to do this IS by using your landlord tenant rights. These rights are there to protect the tenants. You all need to use escrow to your benefit as well as many other options and resources.

Manager is such a B! Rude and arrogant and she's just pushing people away. Put in a work order, but maintanance never came by. I had to go over the office 3x for this issue. ROACHES are also everywhere!!! I woke up once with one on my blanket! The A/C system sucks too! It only works in a system of cool or heater (central unit). During winter, they turned it to a heater system.

Bedroom floor was dirty with food on the floor left from previous occupant. Apartment feels very stuffy, not sure about the AC. Bathroom was filthy, mold in the bathtub, hair in the sink, shower not working, sink clogged, cockroaches. They claim they had a swimming pool, but no, is still under construction. She was placed with a roommate who uses drugs and management knows about it! Management is an absolute incompetent team from the regional manager to the property manager.
Review from 3/4/17 on GoogleDec 2016: I will never renew here again. The new management and ownership is an absolute nightmare. None of the amenities are as posted. Laundry facilities are constantly broken. Security is nowhere to be found. Bedrooms are half finished, floors are constantly chipping and holes leading to the outside can be seen everywhere. Things are constantly requiring maintenance. Not to mention, the one woman who worked here who actually cared about the residents, Kathy, was let go. Kathy was always there to help out residents and did the best she could. I enjoyed this place at first but now I wouldn't even live here if it was free. RUN, not walk away. Bringing back Kathy is the only thing that could save this place for me.
Review from 12/27/16 on GoogleDec 2016: Even though I like the spacious rooms and new furniture, the owner of the apartment has a terrible customer service and is not reliable. She does not try to build good relationships with the residents, and you can tell that from her greediness. She charges the rent differently for the same deal as other residents and takes advantage of the residents who had no idea about that, but also charges extra fee for bunch of stupid reasons even when I had sufficient situations fail paying a correct rent that she should have understood. Also, they show a "luxury looking" apartment's picture on their website (top page), which is supposed to become real very soon because they have been using the fake picture on their website since the spring semester of 2016.

We didnt get the key for 8 hours. When we finally did get the key we found out our furnished apartment that we had paid 4 months rent upfront for, was not furnished. I got to sleep on the concrete that evening. Third, they had forgotten to change over our mail slot so we didnt get mail for the first month.

The location is amazing and the type of people that have been moving in this year are not the snobby type that live at the brand new dorms. It's also much nicer and way cheaper than the new apartments they have been building. I love the environment and the design is awesome. There is no better place to live around here!

It is hard to pinpoint what my favorite thing about The Mark is, but I have to say I absolutely love the new stainless steel appliances. The study is great for people who need a place to study and do homework or work related things. It is nice to have the option to go there instead of staying bundled up in an apartment for hours. Aside from the property itself, I love the property manager Kathy and her staff. They remember my name and when walking around the property they always acknowledge me. Very impressed!
