Jun 2018: This place was great before the new owners, but things have taken a turn for the worst. New office staff is incompetent. I was in the middle of a transfer to a new unit as the ownership changed, and the process ground to a halt. No one at the office had any idea what they were doing and it took months of trips to the leasing office to get things straightened out. Now that I am in the new place, things have not gotten any better. Six weeks since moving out from the old place and $2000 in refunds/security deposit has gone missing, when we were told we would have a check in the mail within 3 weeks. Countless trips to the office and still no money in hand. Also, stock up on lightbulbs because the new maintenance is equally incompetent. Jun 2018: We fell in love with these apartments for various reasons. They had excellent reviews, gated, the staff and maintenance were amazing, easy access to the 202, and let’s not forget about the views at night...stunning. I was saddened when they were bought out and we, the tenants, got new management. However they have been equally as great. I did have some issues at first but management contacted me immediately. Leah Rogers was very kind, listened attentively to all my concerns, and kept her word. I may have been biased at first but I really am happy I gave new management a chance because I really do love this place. The people here make it great. Review from Google
Jun 2018: I had the best experience touring this community. The apartments are gorgeous, the pool is awesome and the lake is so close. They have kayaks that we can rent out at no charge to use on the lake. School is down the street so when it's not too hot I can take my bike. Review from Google
Jun 2018: This place is a bad-ass location and I really love my apartment. There is a new staff here and I have noticed changes... some for the better. The hallways actually smell good and the carpets are being cleaned. There are improvements with my maintenance issues with the new team too. Although I can tell the people that work in the office are new I noticed that they go above and beyond and do what they can to help me. It is still to soon to give them five stars but if they keep it up i would be happy to revise my review. Sometimes changes are good and I wanted to make sure the positives are mentioned for the hard work I have noticed. Gate is always broken, so it is not a gated community. Building doors are never locked, where there are many homeless people wandering around back by the lake. One morning, during early hours, there was a person just sleeping in the lounge of the building. Try walking in to ask the leasing office staff a question, and you'll be there for 45 minutes to an hour just waiting for the one person that is working to get to you. May 2018: New management is literal garbage. Had to tell them 3+ times we weren't renewing our lease. Would not cooperate to get a proof of residence for our new place, and the staff at the office were incredibly rude. Finally, after days of trying to get them to recognize our intent of leaving at the end of the lease, we scheduled a walk through to give back the keys. This was noted on the "official notice". Went to do the appointment on day of move in, and they said it was never scheduled and told us to just wait a few hours in the apartment until they had time to do it.

The walk through tried to say we have to pay for carpet cleaning and paint when apartment was immaculate, it’s called normal wear and tear. They do not know real estate laws, try to nickel and dime. Apr 2018: This place has it all. Gym, movies, free food, pool, view of the lake, parties every weekend, friendly neighbors, helpful staff members, free cable, bbq pits, dog parks, to top it all off there is a in & out right outside the front door. You can pregame in your place and walk across the bridge to a sun devil game. This place is perfect. Review from Google
Apr 2018: So.... new management we have had them for more than 1 month now. Hallways are gross and dirty (look at pics) most hallways smell like rotten food, weed or dog piss. Some machines at the gym have been broken for over a month. Rent prices will go up because of the change in management. This place is not worth the price you pay I really can’t wait to get out of here. Mar 2018: I love this community. The amenities are amazing, the location is ideal, but the most important thing to me is service. Hands down Melissa is, by far, my favorite. Feb 2018: This Staff is under the assumption that they own the place and I think someone has misinformed them that its NOT their work that pays my bills, where in fact it is the Rent of the Tenants that pays their bills!!!!
I lost my phone on the property in the 3rd floor club room, the Staff in the front advised that they found my phone after I advised it was lost and instead of contacting me directly, they contacted my neighbor while she was in the Front office to contact me and inform me that they had my phone. Completely unprofessional and a complete violation of privacy and respect.
I put in a request to have the garbage disposal fixed as it was backed up, here's the Front office's response, " Our Maintenance puts that kind of stuff on the back burner until they can get to it." 3 times I had to call and ask to have the Garbage disposal fixed, Review from GoogleJan 2018: CONS
- This complex is overpriced.
- Filled with college kids who exhibit a disproportionate ratio of dollars to IQ points.
- The halls have stained carpet, and smell like marijuana.
- Freeway and Air traffic noise are more than noticeable
- Residents drive through the parking garage thinking it's the Gumball 5000
- I have yet to experience a period longer than 30 minutes of peace and quiet. A neighbor on one side must be, from what I can discern, a novice aspiring EDM DJ, or an equally unskilled video game addict with a serious sub-woofer, as I hear the same godd**n bass set on repeat for hours at a time.
- After 9pm, drunk people.

I saw that other reviews say that the office staff is not helpful but I have had a great experience with them. The manager is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Maintenance is amazing, they have responded and fixed all my work orders in less than 24 hrs. I was concerned as a young professional that the apartments might be loud but I have never had a problem with that either. The apartments have amazing insulation because I have never heard my neighbors at all. Quick access to In and Out and the freeway a huge plus. I would definitely recommend to everyone. The apartments are extremely pricy for the space for the price of a 2 bedrooms apartment you can rent a 4 bedrooms house with a pool in a nice area . many college students live there and the weekend is constant parties and music .Simply said renting there was the biggest mistake ever done . can not wait to finish my lease and get out of there.Jun 2017: I have lived at this location for several years and overall, the experience has been satisfactory. The change to the name and building management did not create any noticeable improvements outside of the expansion of front office business hours. With that said, the maintenance staff has always been absolutely exemplary. XXXX runs an operation that goes above and beyond to help fix/solve regular issues that arise from time to time. Simply, him and his crew make living at Ten01 easier.

Feb 2017: My experience at Ten 01 place has been amazing so far! Ten 01 on the lake has by far the best management team out of all of the different apartment complexes I've stayed at so far. Any personal issues I've had have been handled with great care by the sweethearts down at the front desk XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX! I was especially happy with the general manager, Wanda, as she was willing to go out of her way to help me have a most comfortable stay.

XXXX is the one who showed me around the community and has kept in touch. Her colleagues made me feel very welcome as well. They were very patient with me and every time I came in to tour due to my roommate situations changing a few times I had XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX show me around as well. Jan 2017: Ten01 on the Lake is a great place to live at a reasonable cost. I have been living here for 4 years now and do everything in my power to not move elsewhere. I highly recommend it.
The facilities are beautiful and well kept by the maintenance staff. They do a great job of keeping things tidy and looking clean. Preston is the main man and has a good staff that are friendly and efficient. Work orders take less than a day to be fulfilled and are easy to submit through the online system.

There is absolutely no storage space, the layout is terrible (i.e. you have to walk down the stairs to use the bathroom, and there is really no good place to put a dining room table). It's bunchy. It's small. And to top it off, it's really expensive! I moved 3 minutes down the street to an apartment that is twice as big, and significantly cheaper. You should too. don't shell out nearly $1,500 a month like I did for temperamental wifi and a TV that for some reason lost signal at least once a week. Bottom line, save your money and your sanity, go somewhere else!

Units here are kind of pricey but that's what to be expected in this part of town. 5 minute drive to Downtown Tempe, 5 minutes to Tempe Marketplace, 10 minutes on the freeway to get to Mesa Riverview and another couple of minutes to get to Old Town. Maintenance is normally pretty quick with any repairs and the office ladies are always on point whether it's clearing up an issue with charges and helping out the tenants that live here.
