Apr 2019: Isvela is awesome!! She cares deeply about her residents' experiences and hosts events to get people in the apartment complex engaged and connected with one another. Though I did experience maintenance troubles at times, every maintenance issue I had was addressed and fixed immediately. She works hard to ensure the property is well kept, well-priced, and a friendly environment. Review from Google
Jan 2019: I'm 2 months into my 8 month lease and I have enjoyed it so far. Isvela is a pleasure to speak and work with. Emergency maintenance staff are wonderful. My heat went out during the snow in December and I called once to have it fixed and also was left with a space heater in case of another issue. Even though it went out again the next day first thing that morning the problem was fully fixed. It's quiet besides the floors bc my upstairs neighbor is so heavy footed. Review from GoogleSep 2018: a guy followed my girlfriend from her car to the door and only ran off when I came out. multiple times people were hanging out outside and sitting on my car. large, noisy families packed into 2 bedroom apartments. bus stop is loaded with people in the morning, most of whom will try to panhandle from you if you walk by. staff is poor, in my experience it took days for maintenance and the lady at the office was incredibly condescending on more than one occasion. wound up breaking my lease after someone broke into my car. avoid. Sep 2018: I still enjoy living here...manager, maintenance and other staff make it great but my rent keeps creeping up; $815 this year, although my square footage hasn't changed, so this is most likely my last year living here. Anyone know of affordable places around Pittsboro or Apex? Rent went up 8% and had to move elsewhere in 2018. It hard to save a dime to pay for school when rates jumped like that. Dec 2017: Roaches, spiders, rent is too high for a small one bedroom. Upstairs neighbors smoke weed and are obnoxiously loud. When you call the office to ask important questions they never know anything. Review from Google
Oct 2017: Reasonable price. Apartment is 1B1B only. It was recently renovated so the space was pretty new (I wish we have a microwave in the kitchen like Kingswood). I haven’t had problems with roaches/bugs at all (we take out trash daily and tidy up our place regularly). The staff is helpful and very welcoming, especially our leasing agent, Tiên Le. She is attentive, quick to solve any of our concerns and would go extra mile to make sure our place is well maintained. Most of our requests were solved quickly. My only complain is that they schedule the mowing lawn service so early in the morning, it’s so loud and annoying. It gives me headache.
The location is convenient, with buses to UNC/ Carborro area, grocery and drug stores around the corner. Overall good place to live. The apartments are fairly small, but the location is great. The bus stop that heads into downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill is right across the street. A Food Lion is a few minutes walk. The property is well maintained and the renovated units have great appliances. Whenever I've had any maintenance issues (nothing major), they've been prompt to respond. Isvela and Tien are always super friendly and helpful- I look forward to seeing them whenever I get a package in the mail!
Some reviews mention crime in the area but, as a single female who lived alone, I never felt unsafe. I always lock my doors but I would do that anywhere. This is a college town and some crime is inevitable.
Review from 6/8/17 on GoogleJun 2017: I have absolutely loved living at Ridgewood! From the moment I walked into my new apartment, I felt at home. Isvela and Tien are the best management team I have ever met! The two of them truly care about you. I've had one VERY minor maintenance issue (my utility closet door came off the track and the track was bent & had to be fixed). The maintenance worker was very sweet and even was friendly to my cat.
As for some of the concerns others post about, I have witnessed 3 bugs in the 7 months that I have lived at Ridgewood. Some buildings seem to have different issues.
Review from 6/3/17 on GoogleMay 2017: One word: ROACHES. We had to put any and all food in the fridge. Even the flour would have roaches in it. In the morning when I would wake up and turn on the lights, swarms of roaches would scurry away. Pest control didn't help at all. I talked with neighbors and they were having the same experience. Please beware that these people are advertising themselves as LUXURY apartments on craigslist right now. WHAT???? Nastiest apartment I've ever lived in.

This is because XXXX and XXXX are quickly responsive to every apartment issue I've had. Twice, they helped me to change units between lease renewals. At no time have I ever been charged for phoney charges. Plus, plus, they arranged for us residents a very nice Holiday dinner of ribs, salmon, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and cake.

She's absolutely the best. She is very responsive and takes care of any issues you may have immediately. We ended up moving to another bigger place and we definitely already miss how attentive XXXX was. Again, it's a pretty average apartment complex in terms of the actual apartment itself, but it is inexpensive and XXXX will make sure to take care of you.

The office manager makes sure to show a very nice, clean model apartment without showing you the actual apartment you'll be living in. When I opened my door for the first time, the walls and carpets were not clean, there was a bug bomb in the middle of the floor and roaches still running around. My washer/dryer was not new (as advertised) and were not even working when I moved in. It took almost a month to fix. My first week, I had a leak in the bathroom. The maintenance guy denied that there was a leak and didn't come back to fix it until the entire bathroom was flooded with dirty water.

The complex of Ridgewood apartments is one of the most awful I have ever been to. The main thing to keep in mind about all these complexes is that each customer to them is only an ATM, from which they only want to get as much money as possible. However, in the case of Ridgewood this is so true, that it gets almost disgusting. They charge well over $700 a month for an apartment that is worth much less than that. The reasons are several. First of all most of the buildings in the complex are infested with swarms of roaches.

Any issues that we had during our move-in were dealt with promptly and politely by her and the maintenance staff.
When deciding where to live, I read reviews such as the ones on this website, and found them helpful. After reading some of the other comments, I was a bit nervous of bugs and cockroaches in Ridgewood, but I haven't found it to be a problem. I have seen a very small number of bugs, and since moving in, the facility carried out a treatment of all of the apartment units.
