Hi, Loading...

Mar 2019: i lived here for 6 months and it was amazing. the leasing staff were always really kind and friendly and helpful. the maintenance manager was amazing! so friendly and on top of things. i had a leak in my ceiling from a problem with something in the apartment above mine and they took care of it asap. it's a quiet and peaceful complex. the pool is great. it's expensive, which is why i ultimately decided to move elsewhere, but if i could afford it i'd go back!
Mar 2019: Seemed to be a fairly nice place but we ended up renting elsewhere
Oct 2018: Ok, so first off- I've been waiting a few months to write this just in case (I've had bad renting experience in the past and I'm not afraid to write a neg review) but Franklin Woods is truly the nicest place that we've lived in the last 5 years (and 5 moves). We rented a newly renovated 2BR/1.5 Bath on the second floor. For the rent, you cannot find anything better. Everything is clean, working, and up-to-date despite the age of the property. Also, despite what I was told about NC (you can't get away from bugs) we have had absolutely no issues. I think the best things about the property are that mostly families and grad students live here, so it's quiet but friendly, and the maintenance is (honestly) top-of-the-line. I don't even think of customer service as a part of maintenance (just hope the job gets done) but these guys are what make you f Review from Google
Sep 2018: The manager Ronnie is a very helpful and great property manager. She is always working and working hard to make Franklin Woods a great living experience. Her and the staff do a great job of taking care of the property and most importantly the residents! She and the staff are always accommodating and helpful. This property is a great living experience because the staff cares for the people not just getting a rent check. Thank you Ronnie for all you do and all that the staff does. Also a special thanks to the maintenance staff who always make getting work request and maintenance issues fixed promptly and correctly each time. You always all go above and beyond! Thank you!! Apr 2018: I lived there for about 2.5 years. My girlfriend and I were trying to rent a place that was convenient for both of us (I went to Duke, she went to UNC) and couldn't find a better place than Franklin Woods. Both the 400 and the 405 bus lines stop right in front and can take you to either Duke or UNC in less than 30 min. Review from Google
Feb 2018: Wife just delivered our baby boy. Nurse Taylor was the very best ever. We loved her. They really care about their patients. Review from Google
Oct 2017: I just moved to Franklin Woods recently. I couldn’t be happier with my new apartment and how it’s so close to the shopping centers. The property is well kept, the maintenance guy Hector is AWESOME. He is fast at fixing things and making sure things get done! I couldn’t be happier with my decision to move to this place. I totally recommend it! Review from Google
Oct 2017: Residents receive financial incentives to leave 5 star reviews, so do not believe any such reviews here. This is misleading, unethical, and illegal. Review from Google

Aug 2017: Pros: Great Location ever, you can take 405&400 to Duke and take D&F&CL to UNC. Great staff Hector who is friendly and can fix everything within minutes! He's the best reason to choose Franklin Woods. This makes Franklin Woods much better than other similar apartment. Cons: The facilities are old with the cheapest standard carpet and the public stairs are old with big gaps. Thus it is easy to make noise when walking on the stairs or in the apartment. If your apartment is toward Franklin Street, it would be noisy from trash trucks, lawn trimming, and loose leaf collection (Comparatively, the cars from the street is not that noise). Jun 2017: Franklinwoods is a great place to live. The neighborhood is safe, and most of residents working/studying at UNC. Management runs routine checks in the units, and always lets you know beforehand. Anytime I've needed a maintenance service they've taken care of it right away. Bus stop is right in front of it, and all stored you'd need on a daily basis are just around the corner. Plus 2 trails that are great if you are a runner! Review from Google
Apr 2017: Great location, safe, quiet, small neighborhood. No bug issue (I have lived here 3 years). I'm very happy with management as they have always fixed maintenance issues very quickly and professionally. I'm happy to have lived here and would recommend the apartment complex to other students. Rent is getting too expensive however. Review from Google
Aug 2016: I lived in Franklin Woods for almost 2 years with my husband. It was a good place to live and a great value for students. We were both in grad school, one at UNC and one at Duke, and it was easy to get the bus to either campus. The location was great, because you can walk to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, the public library, Booker Creek trail, Caffe Driade, etc. My favorite aspects of the apartment itself include the in-unit washer and dryer and balcony where we had a garden. Least favorite things about the apartment were the view of the parking lot and not a lot of closet space. Review from 8/15/16 on Apartment Ratings
Feb 2016: My apartment is just the right size and well laid out. It has windows all along one side. The building is very well kept. The neighbors and the neighborhood are pretty quiet and the neighborhood is quite safe. The location is terrific, right on a good bus line. Walking distance (well, maybe 45 minutes) to UNC campus. The staff have been uniformly kind, helpful, and accommodating. I appreciate that especially because I'm in town only intermittently. There have been a couple of maintenance problems, but they were fixed very promptly. 5 stars all around.Review from 2/20/2016 on Apartment Rating
Oct 2015: I've lived in Franklin Woods for over a year now, and it's easily the best I've found in Chapel Hill. It is much nicer, cheaper, and more convenient than where I was previously. Pros: The apartments are a good size for the price in the area, and unlike the last place I lived, I've never heard a sound from the neighbors here. The bus stop directly in front of the complex has two free bus lines with short trips into Chapel Hill proper. There are two grocery stores within walking distance, and the (very nice) local public library features a short wooded trail that runs right behind the complex. The staff is, without exception, friendly and helpful (also unlike the last place I lived). Review from 10/15/15 on Apartment Ratings
Oct 2015: I've lived in Franklin Woods since June and I couldn't be happier. After many months of looking, I chose this apartment complex because they were running an incredible special for students during the summer. So far my experience has been more than satisfactory. The apartments are a little dated but that's almost anywhere in Chapel Hill as far as age is concerned. The office manager Ronnie has been a huge help in this transitional phase and the maintenance guy Hector is super nice and extremely responsive. The location is great being on three bus lines that go directly to campus and just a short walk to multiple shopping centers. Review from 10/13/15 on Apartment Ratings
Oct 2015: I've lived in Franklin Woods for under 3 months & have had a great experience so far. The location is great as I'm all of 2 minutes from Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Starbucks, & a few dozen other great stores & shops. And I am a 5 minute drive from campus and there is a bus station right in front of the complex, which is super convenient for when I don't want to drive. The staff have been so kind and welcoming from the beginning. Their maintenance staff is greatly responsive and communicative. Review from 10/11/15 on Apartment Ratings
Jan 2015: I had a good experience when I stayed at Franklin Woods. There were mostly older graduate students living here, so you won't run into the typical college parties you would if you lived at the busier apartment complexes. To get into University mall and harris teeter I usually cut into sunstone apartments instead of walking/biking all the way to estes and making a left. When I walked to campus it took me like 40 min, so don't miss your bus! But it was very homey. I had to pay extra for my washer and dryer, they may have changed that. It's also part of other GSC apts so I think you can use other complexes facilities if they're part of GSC.
May 2014: I really recommend Franklin Woods for any UNC student. The location is great - right off campus where it is either a short bike ride, drive, or bus ride to campus. Learning the bus schedule really helps for class planning. Other than that, there are multiple plazas with convenient stores, gas stations, and restaurants just a walk away. The inside of the apartments are pretty large and spacious, shoot for a model where there is a kitchen cut-out - really opens the space up and allows interaction with the living room. I had a bike to commute to and from campus, so the large storage closet off the porch/balcony was a great place to keep my bike. Review from 5/27/14 on Apartment Ratings
May 2014: Franklin Woods is a good location, it is close to UNC campus. There are 3 plazas, four Supermarkets, 2 parks, a library, and with three local bus routes. We have been living here for over 3 years, and we are happy to get acquainted with the neighbors--some of them been living here more then 10 years. There are nice people in the office, and they always fix problems we have on the same day. Review from 5/15/14 on Apartment Ratings
