May 2017: Chisholm hall is not reliable at answering their phone. Of the times that I have called, they have answered about a third of the times. The stairways are poorly maintained, they are very frequently smelly and dirty from litter and stains. My roomate's bunk bed had mold on it. The ceilings, panels, and floor, (which is bumpy in several places) have had visible damage since the room was assigned. Bad things aside, the RAs are awesome and I appreciate the effort that they make to entertain and educate dorm residents.

May 2017: Chisholm is a great place to live. I've been here for a year and haven't had any problems. Its is an old building but the sense of community and RA's make it worth while. The rooms are HUGE and I have a queen sized bed that's very comfortable. And they have private bathrooms as well. The cable is good too. A pose to some of the reviews here that simply aren't true, like the bed bugs and fire alarms, i enjoy living here.

Apr 2017: This is worst place to live on campus.; its unreasonably expensive and the cable internet they provide is not stable even though it says high speed. it is really not whatever they say is lie. it it just crappy place and paying and everything in here is just old and if something broke out they will take out of ur deposit.And i swear to god that if you are gamer or play anygame dont even think to come here. the internet here will make you break ur computer. it will say limited and it will just disconnect from your game.
Review from 4/5/17 on GoogleMar 2017: WiFi here is pathetic even the CAT5 cuts out. I have to log back in every single day...upgrade is way overdue. I have the single-deluxe room. It is far more roomy than I expected, but the linoleum floors are so outdated. I came from UIW in my undergrad days and all of their dorms (even the ones built back in the 50s have carpeting). Carpet squares are easy to install, inexpensive and will help with the noise issues (it sounds like I'm living in a cavern). My RAs are very friendly. My biggest issues, aside from the network connectivity, is that the front stairwell, where housekeeping takes out the trash is filthy.

The fire alarm goes off at every hour of the night and the hallways always smell like weed. Not to mention the fact that there is a hot water problem and Chisholm has a bed bug problem and tried to make my roommate and I pay for all of it.
Review from 3/9/17 on GoogleApr 2016: Coming from a 2015-2016 Freshman Resident (VERY descriptive): I always tell people the same thing, "I don't hate living here- I tolerate living here". Would I go again for round 2? Absolutely not. They won't put you in the room you asked for, so don't expect it. Not everything will be perfect! (like some lights, the chair they gave me, knob on furniture, small stuff, etc.). Remember, depends on the previous resident too. Community kitchen: Please do not use it on weekends, since the workers aren't here on those two days and college kids are lazy to clean their mess. But it should be OK on the weekdays. "OK". The RA's try to make events, so the amount of people you meet here depends on you. I know that the RA's at other places just invite their resident's to UTSA-oriented events, but the ones at Chisholm actually make their events.

Feb 2016: one star is too much. This place is horrific. The place looks run down and dirty, and in reality it is. The floors are not clean. No matter how hard you scrub the dirty look will not come off because the owners just wax over the dirty floor (you can literally see the hair under the wax). The community kitchen is disgusting. There is someone designated to clean the general areas (community kitchen, hallways, etc.) but she does not do a good job. The community kitchen has a pile of garbage everyday, smells terrible, and is infested with roaches! The fire alarm goes off very often, roughly 10-15 times a month; sometimes twice in one day.

Nov 2015: The RAs are cool. But if you don't have a meal plan and you want to cook for yourself be prepared to actually starve. You will literally walk into a kitchen that smells like vomit and has roaches crawling all over an overflowing mound of trash that sits there for a week or 2 before someone actually cleans it. And if you are going to cook clean up after yourself!!!!!! Be considerate of other people it's a community kitchen other students cook there.

Jul 2015: Awful management...like seriously. Smell awful. IF you want love the smell of vomit and the smell of paint mix together, then this is the place. The only good thing about this place is the RA. They're really great. but honestly....GET AN APARTMENT!!!! They always There are so many ways to make friends at UTSA you don't need to stay at this ratchet ___ place

This is the worst place to live, the staff was uncooperative and did not write down maintenance reports. They tried to charge my roommate for their disgustingly cheap chair that broke. That's usually not a problem if you don't put in a maintenance request before room checks. However, my roommate put in FOUR requests PRIOR to room checks and they said they did not write any of them down and tried to change her. The front office is never open on time and all they care about is if you release with them or not. It doesn't have a community feel, because the RAs stop talking to their residents after the first two weeks.
