Sep 2019: I really enjoy living here; everyone keeps to themselves. The staff and maintenance crew are all really nice and always willing to help the best they can. The amenities are really nice and the apartments are all a decent size. I wish they had covered parking, but other things make up for it. The only downfall is when you have visitors, it’s hard for them to find parking unless it’s at the very front of the complex by the leasing office, because residents park in the visitor spots, which can be frustrating. Jul 2019: This place was easy to find and I'm super excited to move in next month. They have good views and big bedrooms. And they are within walking distant to UTSA. One of the office staff toured me and she was super nice and answered all our question. Very easy signing process and no fees. I would recommend anyone to live at Avalon. Review from Google
Jul 2019: Happy with my decision to lease here. Staff has been friendly with maintenance issues and the hall ways are kept very clean. I haven't a single issue that wasn't resolved quickly. Price is more than worth the experience. 10/10 would recommend. And also, if you sign with them after the summer, they don’t tell you when your lease will be up. I signed a year long lease October, so I expected I would be there until October, next thing I know they’re telling me to have all my stuff out by the end of July.. now I have a couple weeks to find a new place.. but I know one thing. I WILL NEVER SIGN HERE AGAIN, AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE I KNOW TO NEVER SIGN HERE. There are some very rude employees in the front office, I have been personally attacked by ??? Jennifer ??? Before for asking why the pool is not heated. She is very petulant and immature. Other than her, the front office employees are helpful and kind. The maintenance man cusses up a storm and is super loud, I hear him almost every day walking around using foul and offensive language. Kind of annoying. The pool is not actually heated like they say. I have lived here a year and it has not been heated once. It's still a nice pool, though it could stand to be a little cleaner. There is also an ant problem, they crawl out of the sinks and cracks in the walls. Super gross. The most irritating flaw, to me, is that the printer in the "business center" has never worked for me ONCE in a whole YEAR! May 2019: I have decided to lease here as the complex and amenities are very nice, but I really wasn't welcomed by the staff upfront which are all students who seemed apathetic. And as I was signing the lease the girls were gossiping in front of me which seemed unprofessional, but they were just using their time to do homework so I didn't seem to be a work environment to them. I was told I'd get a call to know of my status as I was qualifying on my own so a few more steps were needed, but I was not contacted. I called and told them of this and they just said their manager was probably busy and told me what they needed to finish the application and that I'd for sure receive a notification on the status. Again, I was not notified and only figured I was approved by an email asking me to sign up for resident rewards and nothing else.

They do everything they can do make sure that you will like it there and seem to constantly be upgrading. the events are cool and the move in process was easy. Coming from Austin student housing, we weren't expecting the kind of lifestyle they provide. I use the shuttle everyday to campus but sometimes I walk cause its close. I've heard good things from friends that have stayed. The staff was super friendly and helpful throughout the signing process. Simple and easy. I loved Avalon because they have elevators and trash chutes to make it easy for those who live above the 1st floor. It's close to campus and the shuttle picks up/drops off. They are starting renovation and instead of using the 20 or so visitor spaces to store supplies or some off site area, they use the regular resident parking. So once again I find myself waiting in my car at 1 am for someone to leave, so I can fight to the death for their spot. It’s really annoying, because even when the spots are not taken up by supplies there is still very little parking after 8 PM. Which is insane! I understand this is not an easy fix, but I see little effort to try and change anything. So if you decide to live here keep in mind that you’ll have to either buy a reserved spot for and extra 20$ a month (240$ a year) to feel secure or don’t leave after 8 PM. I'm currently staying in a standard 2 bedroom, but I was interested in the upgrade that Avalon has, so Brandi at the front office gave me a tour and I renewed my lease in a upgraded unit.
