Jul 2016: This used to be the best apartment complex, hands down. The location is fantastic and the previous apartment manager was probably the nicest person you will ever meet. She worked extremely hard to make sure that any needs or maintenance was met. However, in February, (I think?), a new manager came in. Initially things were great, but it's getting to the point I'm willing to break my lease. They wanted to work on the pool but didn't start until the day pools were allowed to open. They had construction going at all hours and it was not quiet! The elevator breaks here at least once a week.

Dec 2015: I have lived at Barclay House for 5 years. Here are the facts:
It is quiet.
The manager is very nice, she is fair, and does run a tight ship which helps to keep everyone respectful towards one another. She is willing to talk to you - even if it's only about your day or if you need advice. I have gone in her office when she is busy but always makes time for you. She is the only person who works in the office and does get busy, but always has a smile on her face. You can make an appointment with her and she's always available

The definition of block party must have been refering to behind this building because as another reviewer wrote the fraternities have townhouses for the ENTIRE street behind barcley. Every weekend (wed-sat) there was loud music and lots of screaming. What i mean by loud music is that i have my windows closed and a tv on and i can still hear the lyrics clearly. And as far as dog restrictions go...ignore them, i saw plenty of german sheppards which are on the banned list.

Jul 2013: I lived in these apartments between 2011 and 2013. I highly recommend this place if you like a safe, quiet, friendly, and well-maintained apartment complex. This place is not only for students. In my two years I have seen professors, families, professionals, and students living here. It is a very nice place to live in an amazing location. I have never had any issues parking. There have also been a few late nights when I have come back from out of town and gotten the very last parking space, so there were times I was concerned that I may not find a parking space. The only issue I have had with my apartment was a leaking faucet on move-in, but it was fixed the day after I put in my request. The management and employees at Barclay House are genuinely good people and they will help you anyway they can. Review from 07/02/13 on Apartment RatingsMay 2011: I'm a dedicated student and prefer not to deal with the crazy parties and whatnot. This place is perfect. There are a lot of older people here, and the students living here are very respectful. Every maintenance problem has been solved swiftly. The space is pretty good, and the apartments are cozy. The place is very secure. It has key code to get into the door. It's about a 10 minute walk to the top of the Hill. It's a bit of a steep climb back, but it's really not that bad. I would say it is more walk friendly than bike friendly. There is limited parking, but I've never not found a spot. Rent includes water, but not electricity. Being small apartments though, the electricity bill is usually very low. I wish I had found this place earlier in my college career, because it is absolutely perfect for my needs. Mar 2007: I have lived in the Barclay House for eight years and I would highly recommend it. It is safe and the office staff is excellent. Repairs are attended to immediately - even during student breaks when not many people are around. Review from 03/24/07 on Apartment Ratings
