Jan 2019: They ask you to write a review on their site right when you move in, so most of those are positive. However, after a month of living here i started having major issues. I came home to my toilet leaking at the base and through the wall to my living room. I was displaced that night at 11pm and told to pay up front for a hotel, that they would later reimburse me for. I Went to check on my dogs and cat the next day and found a huge hole drilled through to the foundation, dust covering all of my belongings and in the nose and eyes of my animals. I took them with me and asked for plastic to be put up. On day four i was told i could return to my apartment. Dust was still covering everything and the hole in my floor was covered by plywood. I told them i would not be returning until my clothes were dry cleaned (we have to pay to use the laundry facilit Review from GoogleMar 2018: Do NOT live here! When I first moved into the Hawthorne Lofts South my dish washer was broken, none of the downstairs outlets worked, my apartment smelled like sour mildew, and I started to notice mold on my clothes shortly after moving in. After an entire month of calling the office and leaving voicemails about these issues, I had to drive to the main office and address the issue in person. The man who came was very kind and he cleaned off the air conditioning unit in my sink and sprayed it with bleach and water. I am not an expert but that didn’t seem like the proper way to fix the issue. He told me to leave my closet doors open from now on and it should help. I should not have to leave my closet doors open at all times to prevent mold from growing. A couple of months went by and the mold was just getting worse. Sep 2017: Do NOT choose to live in Hawthorne Lofts South. I have lived here for a month and a half and have had more problems than I have ever encountered at another apartment complex. To begin with, they don't show you a unit in the actual complex which led me and my partner to be shocked at what we found the first day we moved in. There was no washer/dryer hookup and the dish washer was broken from day one. Moving on to the bathroom, there was no toilet paper holder or towel rod installed which we had to do at our own expense. The paint on the doors is already chipping and on the second day my handle to my closet just came off in my hand. The complex is poorly lit at night making me nervous to walk my dog. In the loft bedroom the ceiling fan is so low that I have accidentally hit my hand and head multiple times until it was raised. Well maintained units, upgraded units are very nice. Grounds are well maintained and attractive. Dog park is an excellent perk.

The community is nice and quiet, although the walls are thin, so a fighting couple next door was my entertainment until my cable was hooked up :) Overall, I am happy with my experience here so far, and have no plans to leave this property.

Sep 2016: The staff is extremely nice and professional. Maintenance requests are handled in a timely manner. Landscaping is kept up on a regular basis. Amenities are great! It is a Very pet friendly community. Apartments are in good shape and kept up nicely.

I could not ask for a nicer or more accommodating person to handle this experience. I moved from out-of-town, and she and the rest of the staff were more than willing to work with me on signing lease agreements and accepting payments online. They also worked with me on replacing the carpeting with wood laminate flooring at no cost to me in order to better accommodate my two cats. It is always a little nerve-wracking when you are moving to a new city, especially when you haven't even entered the apartment prior to getting your keys.

Staff is friendly and they are always eager to help with any maintenance issues or other problems that may come up. The only down fall is that the upstairs tends to get extremely toasty.

I have a queen sized bed in the loft and a 60 inch tv downstairs and the apartment doesn't seem crowded. All the apartments together make you feel safe and comfortable. The main problems I have will happen anywhere: noisy neighbors, people not picking up pet waste, etc. Very close to campus. Maintenance is good and quick to respond. You won't be disappointed.
