Hi, Loading...

Jun 2017: I have been living at Block 43 before Block 43 was Block 43. I moved in here back in 2015. Since December 2016 when the company take over happened there has been a change in atmosphere and customer care. I feel secure in knowing that I am a person here and not just a head in a bed. They know that happy residents stay and that is the goal. Review from Google
May 2017: No major complaints. Really great spacious units. Beautiful pool and office area w many luxuries. All-inclusive rent makes everything so much easier. Takes some getting used to the train but definitely not as bad as I thought it would be! Review from 5/14/17 on Google
May 2017: I have never been so happy about a management change ever until Block 43 came. My first apartment experience has changed dramatically and still getting better. The staff is so friendly, the maintenance people doing a great job and handling problems that come about has been a breeze with Block 43. Would highly suggest living here if a student! May 2017: My experience was overall great. The staff are nice to talk to, and the living was overall great, and the rent and utility payoffs are not that much of a deal anymore. Also, I like that they always cover the damage without any cost once I report an accident or problem. I wish I would give it five stars, but the major holdback is in particular, the new shuttle schedule. I know that I've heard this is due to staffing problems, but IMO I thought it would be better for the shuttle bus to keep running until 7:00 p.m., so that I don't have to struggle on a 30-minute walk back to my apartment when all of my classes are done. May 2017: I've lived here for eight months up to this point. If you're a student attending UNCG, NC A&T, Guilford College, or GTCC you should be living here. Why waste $500 on other standard apartments when you can live at Home! Management has recently been changed to Burkely Communities, seriously look them up. The cottages at West End are no longer a dangerous place to live facing monsters of management, a place to fear staying at on the Weekends. We have a comfortable living area with kind office staff members, no I do not work in the leasing office. I am a resident and love to call this place home. Ive only had a few errors with maintenance in the history of living here, though they always are on top of fixing our problems, because lets face it we all have problems in life and things break. Apr 2017: My experience here at block 43 was amazing honestly and I say was because I just recently moved out, but my time here with them they have been patient with me and my move out process and everything. Ms. Angie, Shari and Matthew have been real patient with my move out. They were telling me what papers I needed to get signed and what all I needed for the move out process so I commend them for that. While I was staying here my room was pretty spacious and I had my own bathroom in my room with a walk in closet and the closet is a pretty big that is something that I was happy about. Mar 2017: These apartments have a great layout, are nicely furnished, and are a good value for the money. The change in ownership and management late in 2016 looks be a positive development, based on our recent experience. They are professional and have worked hard to help us when we ran into issues. They really care about their community being a good environment for students. Review from 3/12/17 on Google
Nov 2016: The units of Sterling are quite wonderful. I've only had an issue with the dryer (which they kept telling us was fine until they realized there was something wrong with the roof vent that was not letting air circulate for the dryer) which still hasn't been fixed after multiple maintenance request. The management has been unsatisfactory. There was a drive-by shooting(a lot of parties were going on and their security team thats supposed to be out on Saturday nights wasn't there) and there wasn't an email sent out about it at all. Reminder of their party policy was sent out but truly haven't seen any up in security like they said they would. Review from 11/30/16 on Apartment Ratings

Nov 2016: So far my stay has been good. I've had to put in a maintenance order and it was done within two days. The electricity allowance does seem unrealistic. Review from 11/1/16 on Apartment Ratings
Oct 2016: FRAUD!! FRAUD!! FRAUD!! FRAUD!! Charged $220.00 damage fee that was sent to collections and placed on my husband's credit. It was a fee for pet damage caused by daughter's roommate that was EVICTED!! The roommate that was evicted had a pet cat prior to my daughter moving in. When this girl was evicted by Sterling Cottages they apparently did not collect pet damage fees! Now they are trying to collect fees from my daughter and a 3rd room mate who did not even have pets. I and my daughter have tried over 20 times to reach apartment manager and regional manager but NO ONE IS EVER AVAILABLE!! EVER! Review from 10/17/16 on Apartment Ratings
May 2016: I currently live here and I am beyond ready to leave . Their roommate matching program is a joke I am nothing like my roommates. I have been having ridiculous overages since the beginning of January with no explanation and this is the entire complex because I have spoken with numerous friends that live out here and their overages are even higher. And to make matters worse I called up there today to try to see if I could pay off my lease and move out and I was told "You either sublease or stay" ! So I go farther as to ask where there any fees in subleasing and then I am told it's a $350 fee to sublease meaning that if I didn't ask I wouldn't have been informed. Review from 5/15/16 on Google
May 2016: I've left a review before but I just want to restate how bad this apartment complex is. DO NOT MOVE HERE. The management staff is unprofessional and they are some money hungry idiots. Save yourself the headache and move elsewhere. They can't get anybody to lease with them so now they are dropping the rates trying to get people to lease . DONT DO IT! Review from 5/7/16 on Google
Apr 2016: The luxurious cottages are very spacious and comfortable! The staff are all very nice and helpful. They make sure that they try to know everyones names and roommates. Sterling is always offering free food and contest that are available. I highly recommend living here if you are going to one of the nearby colleges. Review from 4/23/16 on Google
Nov 2015: It's okay so far. The management does get to you fast. But my first month was a little shaky. I'm looking forward to having a great next months with Sterling though. Review from 11/3/2015 on Apartment Ratings
Nov 2015: The office staff does not explain honestly about the electric overages. They do not produce the electric bills to back up the overages they attach to your account each month. It's very frustrating to expect certain bills each month but then have to shell out higher amounts month after month. The office staff can often be rude when you attempt to talk to them about this and pretty much shut you down. The garbage bins sometimes get so full and the garbage falls on the ground before they get emptied. I would look around to other apartments before picking Sterling Cottages. Review from 11/02/15 on Apartment Ratings
Oct 2015: I like this community. It could of course use some improvements but it isn't terrible. The houses are wonderful. The maintenance could respond a little quicker and visitor parking is terrible but other than that it is great. Review from 10/27/15 on Apartment Ratings
Aug 2014: When I first toured this apartment complex it looked absolutely perfect! But I should have read the reviews before I signed my lease here. Seriously, the management here awful. Very few of the workers care about the residents. If you have already signed the lease, I recommend remembering the name of any person in management who helped you with something OTHER than signing the lease. You've found a gem, and it will save you time to just ask for this person right away and skip the others. The electricity overages are insane. Review from 08/01/14 on Apartment Ratings
