Oct 2019: They won’t return my 300 deposit been going back and forth with them since August and still nothing just want my money back. Review from Google
Oct 2019: My son is living in mallard glen going to school at unc ch. When an issue arose Ms White handled it professionally and efficiently. If you want a place for your student to live that has a management team that cares then choose mallard glen. Review from Google
Sep 2019: I made an appointment to view an apartment and bc of lack of staffing, was unable to view the home. Nobody called or emailed to inform me. It was a complete waste of my time! Review from Google
Jun 2019: I have never encountered a more incompetent and unorganized staff. Review from Google
Mar 2019: Loved living here. Parking is quite good, the washer and dryer area is 24/7 as well as the work out room. Not a lot of kids around but very dog friendly. The community threw a lot of events! I mean every month there was a food truck or something. I had a very enjoyable experience living here for the year that I stayed. Review from Google
Dec 2018: Great place to live overall. Quiet, clean, affordable, with attentive staff and very quick and effective maintenance personnel. Review from Google
Nov 2018: I’ll keep it short and sweet. Document EVERYTHING before moving in and out. Remember all the names of people you speak with so they can’t pull a fast one on you. I lived here for 4 years. First 2 years, hardly any problems, second 2 years, and more recently, office staff is disorganized. They continue to claim that they are using their mistakes as a learning experience yet taking it out their mistakes on the lessees. Also called the police almost every night because of loud neighbors, had car break ins weekly. While all of those things are complaints, here’s some constructive criticism: if you read all these reviews, it’s clear the Mallard glen staff is ripping people off upon move out. How about you effectively communicate with your lessees? Be courteous? Make sure all staff are trained to answer questions accurately? Keep paperwork Review from Google
Nov 2018: Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing from whoever you speak with in the office! They will tell you one thing and then tell you something else later on. PET OWNERS: make note that in addition to the $250 per dog and $15 per month, you will still be charged a $125 carpet cleaning fee upon move out just for having a pet. The pet fee does not cover ANYTHING! It's simply a way for them to make extra money. Make sure you take your own pictures when you move out. Their cleaning company sends them an invoice if there's an upcharge and they do NOT require any details from them on what required that extra charge. The office is a hot mess and is not very organized, so ALWAYS ask for a receipt when you pay, always know the name of the person you speaking with, and always have documentation of your conversations! They will try to pull a fast one on you Review from Google

Nov 2018: very bad customer service. service deteriorated in last few months with management change i guess.no body cares.they close laundry services abruptly without delivering machines which was ordered month back.
Nov 2018: I moved in at the end of July. When I did walk thru I had a few things that were broken on the list. I gave it to the office and they stated that a work order would be done. I waited a few days and nothing. I gave the office a call they said should get to it by the next day which was Friday. when I got home it wasnt done. I went ahead did my own work orders for several things. 2 days later some one came in and did one thing on the order. And skipped the other two. I call the office and told them they would get to the other two the next day. Next day no one comes. Day after that, no comes. I get off late so I cant ca the offices during hrs unless it's the weekend. I get survey about my work experience and I wrote what happened and the manager calls the next day. I explained what happened and she stated she would look into it. The day I got a no Review from Google
Oct 2018: they charge you a lot of money while you move out , i got charged over $1k and arranged a payment plan and agreed to pay monthly , instead they turned aroung and gave it to collection agency . worst staff at the office to deal with , they dont even try to help . such a bad experiece . i have stayed in many aprtments around US and charlotte and never had such horrible exoerience like mallarg glen . If you are reading this apart number is 2515-106 Review from Google
May 2018: I just got an email from the manager of the apt. to pay $500 towards beg bug pest control . seriously ? which company in the world charges $500 ? They think they can do anything to the moveout tenants becuse its so easy for them . when i asked them for appointment to show exactly what they mean by this bedbugs ( because i have not see during my 1.5yrs stay ) they are asking another $125 to set up appointment , so unprofessional and i felt they made fun of me , such an unprofessional managment . i think i shoul let my other friends know this before they get into this trap.and i dont know what are the other charges going to come. Feb 2018: i would like to give zero stars. horrible management they don't care about the residents who live here. They have the worst attitudes not to mention there unprofessionalism, on 2 occasion I walked into the office and approached them to ask a question and they said " um im on my lunch brake sooo". There no help just there to get a pay check I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to move here, and if you do I'm sorry. 6 Review from Google
Feb 2018: One of the worst apartments I have ever lived in. Walls are paper thin, you can always hear upstairs neighbors. Multiple car break ins and my apartment was even broke into. Doors and windows are not sealed correctly so there are a ton of bugs and roaches. Work orders take months or they end up not doing them at all. Everything is outdated and you are over paying for what you get. After my lease was up, they charged us for things we didn't do and for things we were 'missing' but had no clue what they were. If you do decide to live here: make notes of everything wrong with the apartment when you move in and while you live there or you will get charged for everything. Review from Google
Jan 2018: Mallard Glen is a great community to live in . The apartments are really good at an affordable price. Also maintenance service is really good and fast Review from Google
Nov 2017: I wouldn't recommend it. You can live there to find out why. Hope you love roaches. one star is even too much for this property if I could go into detail. My son still live there against his will so can't share too much info. Just friendly warning. Review from Google
Nov 2017: I signed a lease from them for until March 2018. I found someone that'll take my place and went to them to start the paperwork back in August/September. The lady I talked to said that they will start the paperwork and contact us to come in. I called today to check on the process and now (as of OCT 1)they have a "policy" change that it doesn't matter what happens you CANNOT be removed from a lease until it's over. The policy is retroactive and it doesn't matter if it is in your lease or not. So, basically they can do whatever they want and you have to abide by their policies, no matter if it's in your lease or not. They sandbagged the process of me getting off the lease until I was under this new policy. It's a shady company that I will never do business with again.
Aug 2017: HORRIFIC Move In. Dirty Apartment. Unprofessional Property Management. Unresponsive Regional Management. Our move-in experience was HORRIBLE! On move in day, our keys did not work. The office had to make new keys and delay our move in. When entering the apartment there were numerous things wrong with our unit. - Kitchen sink was filthy. Drain was clogged. - Some dishwasher wheels missing - Sticky counter tops - Washer was extremely dirty! Stains and hair left inside the washer. - Microwave is cracked. - New caulking needs in the ENTIRE apartment - Master bathroom was filthy. Sink and shower drains were clogged with hair. Rust around the bottom of the toilet. - Old shower heads - low water pressure - Porch was dirty. Nails and other trash left on the porch and outside storage closest. Overall our move in process was horrible! We reac Review from Google
Aug 2017: For the price you have to pay, I would not recommend living in this community. The trash is always full and is never clean, neighbors will leave trash outside their doors even with the threat of fines, cars are broken into, the smell of weed appears every once in a while either outside or near your apartment, parties sometimes occur with more than the allowed amount of people, and, the most frustrating of all for me, the laundry complex available at this location never works. To give you an understanding, I have lived here for almost a year and a half and they have always had issues with the dryers in the laundry complex. You have to put your clothes through the dryer for around 2-4 cycles (costing $1.50 each) which makes it better to either wash them and then air-dry your clothes or take them elsewhere. In my opinion, it seems as if they are Review from Google
Jul 2017: I have lived here for about 5 months and am already trying to find a better home as soon as or if not before my lease is up. The neighbors are very rude and inconsiderate. They will turn their music up and dance in the parking lots, loiter outside of apartments and apartment buildings. Our neighbors seem to constantly smoke weed; so much that my apartment smells like it. They also leave their garbage outside of their door for days on end and now have developed a huge black mold spot that Property Management refuses to do nothing about. I've made two phone calls and one in person report about them doing it (which in the contract states that it will result in a $25 fine per bag of trash) which resulted in getting ants in our apartment and two weeks later an exterminator comes walking through my door, but I had already gotten rid of them. May 2017: Good place to live , but contract is not very flexible . its like you are stuck until you finish your contract . I have 7 more months for contract to end but was looking at the options with the leasing office and they gave a big amount to move out and they said can do it in payment plan !! So when it comes to move its not that friendly. I have decided to move out and never come back after my contract ends. Review from 5/18/17 on Google
Jan 2017: Living in the university area as a twenty-something means I do not expect much from an apartment complex. Living here has restored my faith in affordable housing. The staff is amazing and does their best to remember their residents. Work orders are done in a timely manner and the grounds are always clean. I am truly impressed with this complex. It is designed for students and lower income famies, but they do not make you feel less than important. The residents of this complex have always seemed to be a priority which is a refreshing change. Jan 2017: My experience living at Mallard Glen has been extremely satisfactory. First, the location of this neighborhood is pretty spectacular for the university area: it is right next to 85/ 485, is across from some delicious food, and is 5 minutes away from several grocery stores. The apartments themselves are a great deal in terms of quality and size for the price and I have always felt safe within the neighborhood. Finally, the staff has been incredibly helpful during my stay: maintenance is quick to respond to requests and the office staff genuinely care and want to help you to the best of their abilities. Sep 2016: I love living at Mallard Glen. The Management staff and leasing staff are very pleasant and are always willing to help with any concerns I may have. Review from 9/12/16 on Apartment Ratings
May 2016: Lived here for about 6 months and never had a bad experience with the office staff. They are super friendly and they have FREE resident events once a month! They had wings once, donuts a couple of times, a wine night, and an arts and crafts day. I mean, who can deny free food? The maintenence staff is pretty awesome too! Everything is done in a very timely manner, and if something is going to take a bit longer, they'll let you know. . This complex is close enough to campus for students to drive, and far enough away for those who want to get away from the college scene. Review from 5/9/16 on Google
