Hi, Loading...

Feb 2018: I lived at Abbey West from August 2016 through December 2017 and I had a great experience there. During my tenure we had the air conditioning break 3 times, as well as our washing machine and dish washer once. Each time, maintenance was quick to fix the problem and was always very helpful and polite. Their office staff were also very kind and quick to help! The only thing the complex was very slow to fix were the broken stairs, forcing 2nd and 3rd floor tenets to use the back set which was a mild inconvenience for about a month. They are very pet friendly and I had no problem in regards to my emotional support animal living there with me. They also have a dog park which was awesome! I loved running my pup out there and teaching her agility skills using their equipment. The buildings are also spaced out along a fairly large area so there is ple Review from Google
Jan 2018: The staff (management) is not helpful and rude at times and the wording for billing is very vague. Shuttle system is VERY unreliable, always late to stops on campus. Actual apartments are not too bad but I have had to make several maintenance requests. I moved in with a moldy shower-head and sink faucet. The fact that it is cheap was what had drawn me in but with all the issues and the distance from campus, its better to go a little more pricey than be locked into a year long lease and live uncomfortable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Review from Google
Aug 2017: Never had a problem with my room that maintenance could not fix. The staff is always willing to help! Great place to live without breaking the bank. Review from Google
Jul 2017: Please stay way from this apartment. The managers are racist, rude and very impolite. They have racial bias housing policies, and they are very fraudulent. They don't read the meters but they charge you as if they do.
Jul 2017: RESPONSE TO BUSINESS'S REPLY: This establishment's reply does not contain all of the facts. When I spoke with the local manager after posting this review, she stated she had reviewed all phone conversations between her company and me, but she refused to share these recordings with me. She provided me with upper management's contact information after I repeatedly requested it. I left a voice mail and sent an email to upper management, and I've yet to receive a response from them. Conversations with this company continue to send mixed messages, and the company is not willing to provide voice recordings that have been requested. We just received an email containing move in information and the lease still does not contain the terms both managers I spoke with yesterday said my son would receive (an unfurnished and pet friendly unit). Jul 2017: I will be moving in here in the fall so I can't talk about my experience yet. However, I am very upset about their pet policy. They have outlined that cats must be declawed and I feel that is an incredibly unfair thing to ask residents to abide by. While I completely understand that cats' clawing behavior can cause damage to furniture and carpets, there are alternatives to declawing cats, such as kitty caps. Also, I doubt they would pay for the surgery for residents to do this. They also have restrictions on the kinds of dog breeds that you can have at the complex. I know many apt. complexes have restrictions on dog sizes and weights but I feel they should really review their animal policy and provide one that doesn't exploit animals or exclude them based on breed because of stereotypes, etc. I was really excited to move in here this fall but Review from Google
Apr 2017: The staff is very rude and misleading. I was told I would be able to shorten my year lease to a 5-month by paying $100 for each month I had stayed incase we did not find anyone for a sublease. Well when time came and we did not find anyone for sublease, Wanda very rudely and abruptly says she has no idea what I am saying. I had came to the office multiple times to make sure that I would be able to shorten my lease and I was reassured I would be. Review from 4/23/17 on Google
Feb 2017: My son liked the location and convenience. But they are notorious for hitting residents with all kinds of fees. They do not allow you to establish your own utility services, but then hit you with overages because the whole complex used more than "the standard". My husband moved my son out in December 2016 and personally cleaned out the bedroom and bathroom. We got hit with $58 for a cleaning fee. My husband scrubbed the whole bathroom and vacuumed the bedroom. Review from 2/7/17 on Google

Feb 2017: Pros: 1. The amenities are nice 2. There's lots of parking 3. Maintenance was very quick to handle maintenance issues 4. Social events Cons: 1. Abbey west will try to nickel and dime you for most anything they can. For instance, it's $150 total if you want to switch bedrooms within your apartment (you're assigned bedrooms). 2. The apartments themselves are pretty crappy, and the walls are really thin. My bedroom shook when people walked up and down the stairs. Review from 2/6/17 on Google
Nov 2016: This place is deceitful! When my son arrived the room he was supposed to move into was still occupied. They then found him a room with young professionals (not college students) that happened to be in the area working for a construction company. After this fiasco they advertised a renewal for the next semester. My son inquired because early signing had a financial benefit. They then slipped him a renewal for the entire year and locked him in. I complained about what they did and expressed to them and the BBB that their practices were underhanded. When my son moved out they decided to claim there was damage in the apartment in retaliation for my complaint. Review from 11/18/16 on Google
May 2016: I've lived here for only a week as of today and I hate it. Management is TERRIBLE! I have two cats that I told management about and I have paid their fees and rent but when I moved in to my apartment the people I was living with had no idea I had cats and low and behold they end up having a cat allergy I had already paid movers to move my belongings and now I have to do it again. I've called the office three times and they refuse to return my phone calls! My lease is up in July, I will be moving out of here. Review from 5/5/16 on Google
Nov 2015: The Staff is always very kind and helpful! Maintenance takes care of any issues quickly! Great place to live! Very cool resident events and the gym is awesome! Review from 11/1/15 on Google
Sep 2015: Not as many amenities for the price. Basketball court got 2 new goals but still has roots destroying the court. Pool room is closed past 7. No actual billards or ping pong or any of the basic student fun activities you'd expect from a college complex.Dog park kind of small and usually unkempt. Overall the staff is relatable and nice, computer room got a decent upgrade and the gym at least being 24/7 saved this review from being any worse. Oh yeah the downtown shuttle has been closed every weekend so far this semester without any real citation as to why. Review from 9/29/15 on Google
Jul 2015: Expect to be treated like a child. The office staff here acts like they are running a dormitory. Basically, they are under the assumption that if you live here, you're a juvenile who doesn't pay your own rent and doesn't deserve courtesy and respect. If you come to them with a concern, you'll be met with one of two things: incompetence or a general lack of concern, or BOTH. There's just no possible way you could know what you're talking about even though the staff itself is mostly all college-age young adults. While the maintenance staff is top notch and has kept the property in good shape, I never cared for the attitude of management for the time I lived here. Staff members are bold enough to attempt to lecture you, dismiss your concerns, and generally treat you as though you are too stupid to know your rights as a renter. Review from 7/7/15 on Google
Aug 2014: I love living in Abbey West so far! I have had a wonderful experience with all of the staff. The amenities are amazing. The pool deck is great to hang out with friends. Review from 8-24-2014 on Google
Aug 2014: I like living here at Abbey West. We had new carpet when we moved in, and after a while, they replaced our couches as well. Management is very understanding about most things. The weekend shuttle is also very clutch, shoutout to Robin! only things I would complain about are the bugs (decent amount of roaches in the summer), and the courtesy officer or whatever is super strict about "get togethers" Review from 8-2-2014 on Google
