Hi, Loading...

Oct 2019: Decent apartment units. The price is great in comparison to other apartments in Gainesville. The location is really great too, close to campus and Shands with a couple bus stops nearby. I haven't had any issues with the staff or office, they are all nice. I do wish though that the gym was in better condition and especially wish that there would be matching dumbbells. Also, when I moved into my apartment, it wasn't cleaned from the last person renting it- the floors weren't cleaned and neither were the bathrooms and kitchen. Other than that, University Commons is a good place to live. Review from Google
Oct 2019: Affordable, 4 minutes from the university! Rooms are decent, unit size is big, however the common kitchen space might feel a bit cramped for four ... has a nice little pool and fountain too ... Review from Google
Oct 2019: University Commons is a very convenient place to live considering how close it is to the university. The apartment is nice and there is plenty of room with nice amenities like a gym, jacuzzi, and a common area. Review from Google
May 2019: I would definitely recommend living here! They have a great rent price, considering how close it is to campus. The kitchen is definitely small, but the rest of the apartment is a good size and my bedroom is big. I like the layout of the property (it is nice and open) and parking is never an issue either. Kelly and Jessica have been super helpful to me if I ever need anything from the front office. It is a great place to live! Review from Google
May 2019: Such a beautiful complex!! Love living here. Jessica with the Office staff is so nice and helps me whenever I need something. Couldn’t recommend a better place to live. Close to everything! Review from Google
May 2019: *GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE* The best staff and most down to earth anyone could ask for. I’ve never had such a personable, friendly apartment tour before. Jessica is amazing and extremely knowledgeable, she had answers for every questions we had. The designs and cleanliness of the property is absolutely amazing. I would recommend this apartment 100% Review from Google
May 2019: KELLY is great! She’s the first person I dealt with and as I result I rented an apt at a great price! She has your back when you take care of business. I‘ve had a great experience with maintenance once they become known of issues. Review from Google
May 2019: Great bedroom and roommates! Staff is superb! Place is close to campus and the office was able to answer all of my questions. Management was extremely patient with every issue we had and was always available whenever I needed. I’ve lived here for 3 years and will continue throughout my residency at Shands. definitely recommend! Review from Google

Apr 2019: Pretty affordable apartment complex with a decent amount of space. The location is excellent as there are numerous buses that pass by the location and is close to many restaurants and stores. There is plenty of parking and the amenities are alright as well. Management has been weird at times, and you might hear more testimonies to that in other reviews. Review from Google
Feb 2019: PARENTS, don't SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!! The same exact thing happened to me, my roommate , my next door neighbor, and several others as the other reviews show below! They claim to keep losing my payment, then threaten to evict me. They will go back 6 months and claim that you never paid your bill, but when you show your receipt, KELLY will turn red in the face and start literally screaming at you how it's not her fault. Then comes the retaliation. They start just walking in your house, without an appointment . They will constantly text you, and leave threatening notes. I was calling their corporate office usually twice a week, who will correct the office manager, only to have her retaliate even more the next time. Its like dealing with a 5 year old. The corporate office will play good cop/bad cop with you. They will apologize and claim it's a Review from Google
Nov 2018: The "roommate matching" was a lie, none of the people I live with our students. And the online portal is never accurate. Smells like pig feces the majority of the time. Two days before Thanksgiving I received an email about a charge from 4 months before that was never posted to my account, the email was rude and inconsiderate because the office said they would send the small charge to collections when it was clearly their fault for not being prompt with the necessary tasks of their jobs. Review from Google
Nov 2018: Nothing better than university commons. Close to SW recycled though UF surge area! So many bus routes! Apartments are nice and clean. Location is great. Apartment complex is full with trees, a few ponds, pool, gym! Everything is good. Rent is appropriate for location. Great maintenance team too! Only, they should provide card access to common room in after office hours but they haven’t done that yet! Review from Google
Oct 2018: Awesome location, affordable living, and a very helpful and friendly staff. Kelly was very prompt in answering any questions I had and has since made sure my expectations have been met. I know if I have any concerns or issues that need attention I can always count on Kelly to make sure they are addressed and taken care of in a timely manner. I highly recommend UC if you are looking for a nice property with great amenities, staff, and low pricing! Review from Google
Oct 2018: I recently went on a tour here. I was impressed despite the negative reviews I have been reading. I figured i would give it a shot. I was Told tours were available and "Kelly" Would be showing me around and give me some more detail information about the property. Over all the tour was good and she was very detailed about the property.. She was extremely upbeat and was excited to answer any questions i had. Review from Google
Aug 2018: I am not surprised about the reviews and I admit I should have read them before signing the contract. The apartment model is nothing like the real deal. The entire process has been mortifying. I don't think I will give them even one star, but cannot post unless I mark one. :( Since not getting the information to move in on time and having to "harass" the management office for about 10 days; then, getting the information wrong and incomplete and moving into an "upgraded" apartment for which we are paying more and finding out that not only it is not renovated but completely dirty and even feces in the bathroom walls. Broken lights, broken carpet, faucet and chairs. Their answer, they are "busy with other tenants and we need to understand". Really?, Is that the best you can do for your costumers? I have the pictures but I feel embarrassed postin Review from Google
Apr 2018: The office always closes early (it's 4:30pm and the office is closed). I left work a half hour early just to go here and pick up a package. This is aggravating. Review from Google
Apr 2018: My son lives here and can not wait to get out. His apartment is run down. The AC unit does not work so his utility bill is sky high. They need a new one period. The vents are black and the entire apartment smells like mold. All of the furniture is crappy and falling apart. I would give this place a fat zero if I could. The other reviewers must be friends and staff of the complex. I promise the pictures lie!!! Do not get stuck in a one year lease here. RUN! Review from Google
Feb 2018: I wish I could give 0 stars. Management is soooo rude. Low-lifes live here. Good place if you're a grown man making 6 dollars an hour and use your salary to smoke weed and are very dirty. Bad place if you're a student or a boy or female. Creepy at nights. Most important, it smells like horse manure at all times!!!!!!!!!! Review from Google
Jan 2018: MUST READ THIS BEFORE EVEN CONSIDERING THIS PLACE!!!!!! I am going to be frank and completely honest here because no one should go through what I did at this apartment and PAY FOR IT When I first moved in, I had a roommate who was always violently knocking on my door and outside on my window accusing me of using their things which I never did and had to call the cops to come that night because I was scared since this was the the 2nd time this happened. This was resolved by moving me to another unit which was fine until the nightmare began. I got moved to a unit where grown creepy people live and are always outside smoking weed, looking at you weird, and drinking. On top of that, these people would come up to my door threatening me one time when I dropped something in the kitchen because they can say they heard it from downstairs! How ridicul Review from Google
Jan 2018: This was one of the worst experiences of my life. The majority of the apartments are old and don't look anything like the pictures presented. Most apartments are also 4/2 with 4 people crammed in a tiny apartment. The gym is full of old machinery, some of which I think is broken. They claim to provide roommate matching . . . but they don't. Here is where you get a horror story. I am a graduate student that asked to live with other students. Instead I got stuck with a mentally unstable, 19 year old non-student and her boyfriend, the latter of which was not on the lease but, had a key to the apartment, lived with us most the week and ate my food. After having no success speaking with my roommate I spoke with the office. When the office contacted her she literally threw herself onto the floor and screamed at myself and a property manager for a h Review from Google
Nov 2017: It's a nice place for college students but the Landscaping and the scenery is horrible this fight is placed being nice for college students and awesome staff they need to upgrade on their lawn other than that it's a wonderful place Review from Google
Oct 2017: Good place to live. Accessible to buses. But the gym facilities are mediocre, and there's no carpet in our apartment for the normal price Review from Google
Apr 2017: The grounds are awesome. I would walk my dog all over the place. I also loved the pool area. We got to bbq every weekend. There was no problem with parking since the place has tons of it. I liked my apartment since I lived with 3 of my closest friends. The communal spaces were updated so that was a plus. I would recommend asking for specials ahead of time since they are always changing. Review from 4/25/17 on Google
Apr 2017: University Commons has everything I need in an apartment but the front office is terrible. The place is located close to campus with excellent bus service. It has a nice pool but the basketball courts and tennis courts need work. There is ample parking but it's a near the swine unit so smells can be a problem. It comes with decent looking furniture but the couches aren't very comfortable. The washer and dryer work well. The kitchen appliances are suboptimal. My oven takes over 20 min to preheat and my microwave came disgusting. In fact, the front office botched my move in. I had requested an early move in date and they agreed to it. I had the date in my lease. I was told to pick up the key on a Friday since my move in date was over the weekend. Review from 4/10/17 on Google
Nov 2016: can't say nothing bad about living in University Commons! The staff has been so nice that we ended up being practically friends. The location is perfect; the volume of buses passing by Archer and 24th terrace is very good, and also nighttime there are at least 2 lator-gators stopping in front of the complex. The pool area is cool, and even when crowded it doesn't disturb at all. What was best, living in Building E, was the view, though. I really enjoyed smoking my "cigarette a day" sat on the edge of the landing, with a sight of the pond, the pool, and the hawks passing by. Review from 11/23/16 on Google
