Hi, Loading...

Apr 2022: After living here for a while, I'd like to write another updated review. Since moving in, they've updated their internet system and if your computer is modern, it should work fantastic and very fast. The cable system was resolved after working it out with Spectrum, but do note that it's the unit owners responsibilities to deal with them. You aren't given an account number, so expect a long and tumultuous process. The amenities are pretty alright, but the cardio machines at the gym are frustrating, as most are broken or roped off. Some days the only thing working is one single treadmill. Pool is nice. The neighborhood gate breaks rather frequently, but it gets fixed within a week usually. Be sure to be thorough with your move-in check, since you'll miss small hidden things like scratched floors with a couch moved to cover it.
Sep 2021: Internet connectivity and cable are both abysmal. Unit didn’t come with working Ethernet, WiFi is unbearable 90% of the time, and cable seemingly doesn’t work (at least without a cable box) despite the place coming without a box, and Spectrum is no help thus far. (Which means I can’t purchase a box to get the cable I’m paying for!) Really overpriced for what you get. They build you up with the amenities and a really nice unit on the tour, but the actual apartments are pretty standard despite the premium price tag. (It’s not bad, just really overpriced and a bit older.) But, at the very least, I haven’t had noisy neighbors and it seems safe enough. I haven’t used the amenities much since I’m a busy student with work, so I can’t comment on those, but they look nice!
Aug 2021: This is a filthy place, they never clean it properly from the beginning of the school year. Roaches everywhere. When you move out they overcharge you for everything. They don’t respond back when you call and leave messages.
Aug 2021: Terrible, moved son in. We are going to ask for refund / get out of lease. Tons of bugs make apartment not habitable. Filthy, dirty. They are slum landlords.
Mar 2021: New management lied when stating they would replace the internet system by the new year in an email to all residents in November. Property only gets 600mbps for 200+ houses & over 700+ residents. Spectrum came in late 2020 and set a throttle limit of 30mbps for each house because the system was being overloaded. The internet system used is from 2010 when Bright House was still a thing. All other student housing options for UCF receive well over 200mbps+ per residence and have state-of-the-art access points. The property was built in 2014, but has the access point (Wi-Fi) technology that was released in 2008 when AC (5g Wi-Fi) was released that same year in 2014. Time for an upgrade!!!
Jan 2021: One word....Wow! Love living here and the staff is amazing!
Jan 2021: Multiple houses had a power outage happen at 6:30pm. NO ONE IS ABLE TO HELP. When you call Knightshade, you get taken to a third party call center who has to call maintenance for you. Maintenance never picked up. They don’t even have the phone number to the Property Manager, the MOST important person who should know about the situation. So then I called duke energy myself and the earliest someone can get here is 11:45pm. We’re left stranded and Knightshade is no help to anyone here at all
Nov 2020: Overall, this is one of the better student housing complexes for UCF. You get an actual house with good community amenities. Each house has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and RFID locks. The college ran staff can be unprofessional and snarky, they also blatantly take advantage of the vulnerable, naive, young college kids. For example, If there are previous residents renewing they won't paint or clean the common area before or after move-in, thus entailing extremely dirty walls, baseboards, cabinets, and carpet. I had to clean the house from top to bottom. The internet system constantly goes out and is limited to a very slow speed that makes it feel like it's 2007. Management indicates they are looking to upgrade the internet system, but have used this excuse for months. Hopefully, the new management flips things around for the better :)

Sep 2020: The staff is rude and very UNPROFESSIONAL. This place is way over-priced and they take advantage of young, naive students. Avoid at all costs.
Aug 2020: Well the place looks nice and the amenities were okay until the COVID hit us. The downside are plenty , the staff are very inconsiderate and unhelpful sometimes when you grab a package they are rude because they actually have to get up and grab it from the back haha. The actual cottages are nice but they fall apart. They use fake wood to give off this beautiful impression but even the gates are plastic. The rooms are pretty spacious but they WILL EXTORT YOU at the end of the year for false damages you didn’t do. Also safety isn’t their concern I’ve voiced many times that people are breaking in trying to steal but they said we need to worry about our own safety and if things come down to it we must have a weapons to protect ourselves. Isn’t that ridiculous to tell student just trying to go to school that they may need to protect themselves from some goons t

Mar 2020: Love this place! Super beautiful and very nice staff. They were great with helping my move-in be successful
Mar 2020: Love the retreat! Everyone is so nice! Makes me feel like home!!! Recommend everyone to live here
Mar 2020: BEST place to live no doubt, They have so many amenities. Friendly neighbors and is the best housing near campus!
Oct 2019: Love this place! They have a great staff, amazing amenities and care so much about their residents! Truly the best place to live! Review from Google
Sep 2019: Horrible and untrustworthy staff, unresponsive maintenance, and no security. Regular break-ins by people who live in the neighborhood and nothing done about it. Mail constantly stolen. Horrible party neighborhood run by college students who don’t care about anything or anyone but themselves.
Sep 2019: the place is beautiful just the staff is very untrustworthy. I was hoping to start school but they gave away my apartment and ignore any future calls. thanks for the quality customer service. Check out Arden instead I told them my situation and they helped me more then this place.
Sep 2019: This place has a terrible rates and the bathrooms are as cheap as possible. good luck getting through to the slow staff. They will show you no empathy and will show no concern for you. I only hoped they could call me back but ofcourse they didnt do that either. Now they stole the money i put down to ensure I had an apartment. Very distasteful and dishonest.
Sep 2019: I moved out from the Retreat this July and I am not kidding when I say I am thankful that I'll never have to live here ever again. They only look good on the outside and soon they won't bother to up keep that. don't live here, they don't care about anything but a check. the cops are always in and out of the neighborhood and management does nothing. there's no real security . You will be overcharged for everything, the rent they offer is just a base line. Go there to party if you want (that's on the decline too) but DO NOT LIVE there. There's a new place just down the street ,COBDA(i think), try them.
Sep 2019: Living at the Retreat was the best decision I’ve ever made! Such amazing amenities and people that genuinely care... shout-out to Michael for being so kind and always answering any questions/ concerns I may have. The prices are comparable to those of dorms, but you get so much more. The pool (one of the best around here) tanning beds, an AMAZING Gym, a clubhouse, a shuttle, spacious rooms, beautiful kitchen, a dog park etc. It’s such a welcoming community too! 10/10 recommend. Review from Google
Aug 2019: Living in retreat is the best! Everyone who works there is always so helpful and nice and shout-out to Robert for always going above and beyond! As for amenities they have the best pools, so much area in the clubhouse for studying and for just hanging out with friends- hands down my favorite place I ever lived through college. Review from Google
Jul 2019: I've lived at retreat for a few years now and it's been pretty great! The amenities (pool, gym, etc.) are all awesome and the houses are definitely some of the most spacious and nicest student living houses I've been to at ANY school. I would definitely recommend living here to anyone who's considering. Review from Google
Jul 2019: So excited to move in! The staff has been so helpful with everything! The rooms and cottages are amazing for the price! Review from Google
Jul 2019: I love living here! I’ve lived here for the last two years and resigned. The pool area is great and all of the staff are very accommodating. Would highly recommend Review from Google
