Dec 2017: Clean new apartments and with the changes the new management is making it has improved a ton recently. Awesome pool and club house, daily trash pickups and they even have security every night now. Review from Google
Oct 2017: This is my second year living at The Retreat and I do plan on renewing my lease for next fall. No place is perfect but I've honestly had no problem living here. (I wouldn't be renewing if I did have a problem) I'm not being bias but it's one of the newest and cleanest apartments in town!! They have everything I need and absolutely love the environment. They have the biggest pool in College Station, maintenance who take out our trash for us, they have a sauna, cool workout room, tanning beds, computers with FREE printing, and I really love the events they have for us as well! (Lot's of free food!!!) They also have a security who roams around every day and my favorite part is that they have a shuttle bus hat not only that takes us to campus, but also to Northgate!!! (Saves a lot of $$ on Uber's) I really enjoy the people who work there and they Review from Google
Aug 2017: Parents don't rent from this place they will take you for a ride. We recently moved out and we received a bill for $65 for small holes ( exact words used on the invoice) in the walls. $65 for small holes in the wall that is ridiculous. I requested that someone come in an go through the inspection before we vacated. Take lots of pictures before you vacate because, if they charge this much for small holes you can only imagine what others paid. Review from Google
Aug 2017: HORRIBLE!! DO NOT LIVE HERE. They will try to screw you out of every single penny you have. Management is terrible and does not do the things as promised. The leasing agents are not trained and can never seem to get a message to management when seems to be never in the office. Additionally, the prices are OUTRAGEOUS, and goes up every year, even if you are a returning resident. That doesn't even scratch the surface of the issues we have in our actual house. Countless roof leaks and bug issues. WE HAD BEES SWARMING OUR HOUSE, and the retreat said they wouldn't do anything about it. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Review from Google
Jul 2017: The retreat has a fantastic pool and lovely staff. They constantly put on events for the enjoyment of the tenants. You get the independence on apartment living with the luxury of almost hotel-grade staff. Review from Google
May 2017: The houses are nice, the club house, and the amenities too, but everything else needs help and a lot of it! Although I've only live here for a year it was enough for me to decide that I wouldn't be staying with them the next up coming year. Let me start where the major problem is, MANAGEMENT!! Although they do send out emails regarding any incident that may occur, they fail to understand that an email will not fix anything. In given emails they mostly state the issue and say what you can do to fix it but again, they fail to understand that they are the ones that actually have to fix the problem. In addition, most of the management come of extremely rude and those who work front desk literally never know anything and always say you "need to speak to ___ for that" but those people we are supposed to talk to are NEVER there. Review from 5/17/17 on Google
May 2017: The retreat staff does not care about their residents at all. The young people who work the front desk are always really sweet, but every manager I have talked to has been extremely dismissive and honestly pretty rude. I spoke with Jennifer and Brighton in the past, and they both made me feel that my issues were unimportant and never helped me come to a resolution. so basically if you have a problem with the wifi, a neighbor, electricity or any other issue, you're better off solving it yourself. Review from 5/14/17 on Google
May 2017: Worst "new" complex in CS. The apartment complex was built in such a hurry, things broke all year long the first year. Ridiculous utility bills. The security gate is NEVER closed. Have had many robberies, and one in 4/17 where they assaulted the resident during the robbery. Management never warned the kids living there. The trash situation is a Hugh inconvenience- you have to drive your trash to a compactor sometimes way across the property. The interior of the units are not even built properly, major cracks in walls where bugs enter the apartment. Review from 5/14/17 on Google
Apr 2017: This week I realized how badly The Retreat at College Station, under Landmark Properties, is to their residents. Several of us have been in dispute over our utility bills. In my case, I returned to the cottage I rent after being away for over a month to find that my heat had been turned on high and left running 24/7. It seems the property had let people in to take out the thermostat. I immediately notified Brightan, a manager at the leasing office, of the issue and I was given full assurance that my bill would be taken care of as long as I could show that my previous bills were significantly smaller. As soon as I saw my bill was over $200 when I usually pay about $30 dollars I gave them the evidence they needed. Worse yet my next bill was over $100 dollars because the heat had been left running on high over two billing cycles. That makes the total over $300. They
Mar 2017: do not recommend living here. Promises were not kept, which has resulted in many issues. The trash disposable is in the back of the property making it difficult for students who live at the front. (I drive my trash to the disposal.) Management is horrible. They never resolve your problems correctly or quickly as they should. The gates never work. The pool remains dirty along with the workout room. There is absolutely no security on the property, another promise not kept. My house was broken into by someone picking our lock, which is not hard to do. Review from 3/20/17 on Google
Jan 2017: Save yourself the trouble and time, and look somewhere else to live. Everything that was advertised during their tour is false. Although electricity is the only bill you have to pay, including your rent, it's skyrocketing high. Me and roommates had to pay $100+ even when the usage of electricity is limited. Front office has no idea what they're doing and the manager had even admitted it. When we first moved in our place can be seen as carelessly built and treated. Walls were paper thing, with chalk like paint, and dings everywhere. Our balcony is placed mindlessly with parts of it hanging on the edges of the pillars. The A/C and heating unit are also another major problem we have experienced. A/C have frozen up multiple times throughout the 4 months we have resided there. Review from 1/3/17 on Google
Jan 2017: The management staff for this housing unit is completely inept. My daughter, apparently, signed something which we have yet to receive a copy of, that she states she thought was expressing interest in becoming a resident. When she decided that was not the avenue she desired to take she called the office and was told that there was not an active account for her because all of the required documentation had not been collected, including, but not limited to, the guarantor documentation. I have received multiple emails over the past several months demanding payment for my daughter's account and stating that she was in breach of contract. I called the office every time and asked for a copy of said contract. It was not provided, citing confidentiality policies. Review from 1/2/17 on Google
Nov 2016: Few problems but it is new and still working out its kinks. I expect it will be even better next year. the amenities are great. Management was extremely helpful with the problems I did have!! Review from 11/13/16 on Google
Jun 2016: The staff is great! We had a swap around with the house that we chose and everyone in the office was great with helping us. I can't wait to live here! (April 2016 community site)
