Feb 2019: My wife and I absolutely love this apartment complex. It's perfect for graduate students, with many families spanning old and young. The apartments feature new roofs and central a/c, as well as ample and lovely midcentury modern built-ins, including bookshelves and dressers. The grounds are peaceful and park-like, including playgrounds, picnic benches and BBQ pits, a community garden, as well as volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts—even two adjacent soccer fields! All of our work orders submitted online through the university have been completed within a day, and the maintenance and office staff are always pleasant and friendly. The community regularly offers events, including Thanksgiving dinners, cultural celebrations, and group trips to fun destinations such as D.C., Greensboro, and First Fridays downtown. Living at E.S. King has mad Review from Google
Feb 2019: So convenient, close to grocery, restaurants, etc. It is a bit quite, and isolated from students life. more suitable for families Review from Google
Nov 2018: I didnt enter building but it seemed clean and quiet at night. Review from Google
Sep 2018: Decent accommodation for the price. One thing I loved was that you dont have to pay rent if youre a student and you go home for a month or something. Review from Google
Jul 2018: Very spacious rooms, supporting staff and near to market and restaurants. Review from Google
Jul 2018: Need to be a student to be able to rent here. This place is a very old construction and has a roach problem. Like a serious roach problem. The heater is ineffective and the room AC is too loud. The manager, Rena, is the best though, always helping out students! Despite it's issues, there is great maintenance and service always! Laundry is outside the apartment. I would not have left this place if it wasn't for the serious roach problem that these older constructions at ES King have. I miss the lawn and the pleasant ambiance! Review from Google
Jun 2018: Pretty good apartments on main campus for married students, students with families, and graduate students. PROS: nice staff, maintained lawn, fitness room, children's playground, proximity to campus, responds fast to emails and work orders, 2 laundry rooms in the center of the complex that accept either quarters or money on your student account (clothes lines if you don't want to use the dryers), little to no crime (there wasn't any at all when I was here), packages delivered to the office instead of to your door to prevent theft (they send an email when they've processed it so you can pick it up), trash and recycling relatively close, ample parking for NCSU students with parking passes, internet and cable included in rent while electricity and gas are through Duke and PSNC, stove/oven and heat are gas (I would have preferred electric), roofs Review from Google
May 2018: Parking places are not free even though you are resident here. You need to purchase a permit. That sucks and enough reason to avoid these apartments if you can. Update after owners respond: I can understand that it pays for free bus etc. However, as an international graduate student of NCSU, I feel like NCSU making us pau whenever they can. I earn around $1400 a month and they require me to pay ~$1300 student fee which makes my stipend ~$1150. With that money I need to feed my family, pay my rent, pay utilities, pay my gas. I simply can not afford as a married person and a low incomed student. Thats exactly my point, it is ok that they charge for singke students, but since ES King is for married grad students, they should understand that we are alreadt living here in the lowest possible income as a graduate student and thats my point. My prob Review from Google
