Hi, Loading...

Nov 2015: rent is way too high. nothing is included so you have to pay for trash and water but that goes right into your rent. also have to pay for internet/cable. most apartment complexes have deals with time warner or att but Dartmouth doesn't so that's expensive as well. the heat is electric so your bill is always going to be very high. if your going to waste money on an apartment I would suggest not living here. the price you pay per month is absolutely outrageous. live in province or oaks where internet, cable and heat are included. or eagles landing where it's cheap and heat is included. Sep 2015: Overall I really enjoy living here. Like others have mentioned, yes, the rent is a bit high. However, it isn't that much more expensive than other apartments in the area and when I went apartment hunting found that this is really the best one for the price. You don't have to deal with neighbors above or below you and can park right in front of your apartment. Having a separate utility room for laundry is probably my favorite part about it. There is an attic in the utility room that is great for storing things I don't use a lot but want to keep out of the way, and there is plenty of room in the attic to store them. The fenced-in patio outside is also a nice touch. Review from 9/19/15 on Apartment Ratings
Sep 2015: Rent is high, but you pay for location, as it is very close to Kent State campus. The apartment layout is open and nice. Buildings are old and have some typical 'old building' type of wear and tear, but they are well-maintained, and if you report something that needs fixed or improved, from my experience, it will be taken care of very well in a decent amount of time. I am quite satisfied with the staff here--much better than some of my previous renting experiences in Kent. They send out email notifications when they have updates, temporarily utility shut-offs, or office closures, which is much appreciated. The dog park is a decent size compared to other apartment dog parks in the area. It's not been noisy living here from my experience, either--not too many college parties going on. Sep 2015: I've been living at Dartmouth for a couple months now, the rent is a little expensive for a place that doesn't include wifi or tv. (Hickory Mills includes standard wifi and standard tv in the rent). Also the move-in fee is non refundable, where as Hickory mills has a refundable security deposit as long as there are no damages to the apartment when you move out. But I think the staff at Dartmouth is extremely friendly and if there's ever a problem, they handle it immediately (Hickory mills staff was nice but maintenance sucked). May 2011: Nice on the surface; hell underneath it all. In my studio apartment, part of my toilet is rusted through and being held together by twist ties. There is no light in my oven and the temperatures fluctuate by 100deg + in there at any given time. Only 1 of the 4 range tops is level enough to actually boil a pot of water on. Maintenance does inspections in your apartment so often that you'd might as well be living with your parents because that's as much privacy as you'll get. Management is rarely there to help you if you have an issue, they give you vauge time ranges for inspections (e.g. "some time this week"), and you're better off either living in a dorm for the same setting but cheaper, or just getting an apartment elsewhere. Enjoy the drunk undergrads screaming in the parking lot for no reason at 2am on weeknights during the summer. Review from Google
