Jun 2019: I lived at The Retreat for a little shy of two and a half years with my two cats. I moved out for life reasons unrelated to the apartment.
Pros: The staff is absolutely fabulous. I've never had a problem with them, and knowing that there were friendly and reliable people at the front office was a plus. They regularly host community events, including Pictures with Santa, movie night and more. Nearly every week, the office is doing something.I mostly wanted to stay alone, but I appreciated the effort and dealing with them was always satisfying.
Maintenance is awesome, often fixing problems within that same day. One vivid experience I had recently - my A/C went out one bad Saturday last month, and they put in a window unit that same day. Later, they thought they fixed the issue with the central air and removed the window unit. It was still broken, so I called maintenance (after hours) and the window unit was put back within half an hour Review from Google

Mar 2019: I really enjoy the quiet atmosphere and location of these apartments. The managing staff is awesome and very helpful. Maintenance is timely and helpful with any issues. I definitely recommend this complex. Review from Google
Mar 2019: Not good. 🤣 Lived there a couple years. Main problems I had was units are small on the inside. Old, hideous paint jobs on the inside with the ugly gray walls and cabinets. They only have a paper thin coating of paint on the walls and cabinets, which peels off quite easily. Was a moldy leak in the bedroom ceiling from the air conditioning pipe, also a huge hole in the ceiling over the shower that had a lot of mold. Floors are very loud, so you won't sleep at night if you have upstairs neighbors that stomp around till 5 am. Also, many ghetto neighbors that prefer to yell everything out instead of talking normal. Parking is a nightmare since the parking lot is so narrow. Also, they'll tow your vehicles without even notifying you. Our oven caught fire 3 times because the thermostat was broken on it but they wouldn't replace it. Dishwasher broke after first use, and they replaced it with an even older dishwasher which broke after first use also Review from Google

Mar 2019: I have nothing but good things to say about The Retreat at 2818! I love living here, the office staff is so friendly and make you feel as if you are their only resident and maintenance also does a great job of keeping up with the property. I highly recommend this property if you are in the market for a new apartment home, if you are in the market for a new apartment home make sure you speak with the leasing agent Stephanie, she always has a smile and will help you find the perfect apartment home for you! Oct 2018: Lived here for two years and coming back. Fast matinence, and amazing staff that still remembered us by name when we were gone for a year. Right off 2818, easy to go to Walmart and get gas without having to get too far into town and traffic. Best place I've ever lived and rent is reasonable! Aug 2018: If you're looking for a decent looking apartment, that's peaceful and not expensive, then this place is right for you. It's in a convenient location. The apartment staff, especially assistant manager Kristy Welch, would always reply quickly to my emails. If I had any maintenance issues, the maintenance team would take care of it within a day or two. Best value in Bryan! Review from GoogleJun 2018: For an older complex this place is great! Oct 2017: I think that this is a great place to live when your just starting out at college or living on ur own for the ffirst time. There is a reason why I've kept quiet about to multiple ISSUES until now. You see apparently it's their policy to charge you for moving out at the end of your lease with notice and not notify you in any way. I now owe them money which they have sent to a debt collector. Which is totally news to me. So here's the real deal on what's going on on this property.
1. Need last minute child care? Multiple unlicensed daycares operate on the property.
2. Need a quick and cheap tattoo? Then the illegal tattoo shop on the property is for you!
3. Need a fix? There is quite the selection of drug dealers at the ready with very available option.
4. Need a little excitement at 2 am? They've got tenants fighting in the common areas threatening to "shoot the place up" while high.

The new renovations look great and the staff is even better. Alexis and Kristy are both phenomenal managers who never let a problem linger for too long. Leslie is a great leasing agent who always has a positive upbeat attitude no matter the situation. maintenance is also great, very professional!
